Yeah I don't get that criticism in general. He scans the field regularly in most film I've watched. Who knows what the progressions are or rpo/play action responsibilities but he's usually not obviously staring down his eventual target the whole time

It’s a case of someone not watching film and just making up nonsense. If you don’t like the prospect I get it. He is definitely a project, but don’t just make up nonsense.

He was my pick to go 1st overall this draft before the season

Then this season happened where he didn’t progress in any area at all.

Still can’t process, doesn’t throw with anticipation, pocket awareness is non existent and he gets hurt a lot.

Rocket launcher of an arm is cool and all but that only gets you so far.

This is spot on!!!

I personally worry about his play style more than I do Bryce's size as well, guy when he's healthy lays his body on the line a lot which while commendable has clearly already worn on him in college. Its not easy to change that mentality and it concerns me on longevity.

All of his flaws are coachable.  What can't be coached is his raw talent.  He has the best arm in this draft by a mile, and I'm not just talking about how hard he can throw it.  Passes the eye test for sure.

I think this is the big difference between the for and against camps. I don’t think he can be coached to overcome the mental aspects as there was no sign of progress in 2022 and he’s already a bit older. But I could be totally wrong.

Apparently Nick Saban has now entered the chat.

Recently, while talking up Bryce Young, he made a statement about larger quarterbacks with lesser skills that's being perceived as a shot at Anthony Richardson.

The article featuring the original quote is here:

To be clear, he doesn't mention any names. The physical description does fit Richardson but it could also be kinda generic.

In the wake of Richardson's Combine performance though, this is how people are taking it.

To be fair, the coach who helped him have his 2021 season wasn't there last year.

Yeah he is trying to get is guy drafted higher. He has always been good at having his players backs.
