From what I saw of Levis this past season, he needs more time in the oven.

I just don't think what's between his ears can be fixed. It's similar to Sam Darnold. He'll need an almost perfect team around him to make it in this league from what I've watched. I could be wrong, but it's just my opinion from what I've seen.

Yep I think once the smoke clears we’re stuck with Levis

I know they’re desperately trying to get to 1 but I’m not sure it happens

I honestly don't have a problem with it.  I PREFER AR because he is younger with more upside IMO, but I don't have a fraction of the knowledge our staff does about developing QBs.

That’s who I keep coming back to when I watch Levis. Sam f’n Darnold. All the tools in the world but can’t process sh!t. That’s a hard thing to be able to just start doing while playing in the NFL. He rarely shows the ability to throw with anticipation on top of that. Pocket awareness is sh!t too.

Okay, what did you mean? People here are giving Kunkel poo for being a nobody that seems to make less than accurate predictions. How is Gil Bradnt, someone's who career in the NFL that spanned decades, analogous to him?

Read the post again.

The point was that people often judge reporters unrealistically, with one of those standards being whether or not it's something they want to hear.

Another example...

Reporter X writes that the Panthers are interested in Free Agent Y...

Free Agent Y signs somewhere else...

The Huddle concludes that Reporter X doesn't know what he's talking about...

According to Anthony Rizzuti, Will Kunkel of Queen City News says that he believes that we are only "seriously interested" in three of the four top QB prospects in this year's draft (spoiler: and AR15 ain't one of them).

"Will Kunkel of FOX Charlotte was featured on Wednesday’s episode of the Panthers On Tap podcast, joining hosts Curtis Rauen and Bryson Karbley to put a bow on the combine. When going over their options under center in this year’s draft, Kunkel said he believes that there are only three prospects in play for Carolina’s first-round pick—Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Will Levis."

Here is what Kunkel said:

I think those are the only three that they are seriously interested in,” he said. “I do not think Anthony Richardson is a good play for them, and I don’t think they’re overly interested in him because he’s not ready to play in the NFL right away and they don’t have a guy for him to sit behind right now.”

A few thoughts:

Charlottonians (damned that's close to charlatans), would Kunkel even really know what we really think, because this "report," as Rizutti characterized it,  screams of speculation?

This belief does kind of fall in line with the thought that we will move up and have built a staff to facilitate the development of a young signal caller.

The Anthony Richardson post Combine hype is still real. Beteen Rizzuti's unlimited ceiling comment and Kunkel outright saying that AR would be a "good play" for us, is almost as if they are lamenting that he's presumably not in the plans. But, by Kunkel's own admission, "he's not ready to play."

Take it for what it's worth. There is plenty of rationale for our interest to gravitate towards the "top three," and Kunkel's thoughts could easily be real, but it's not like Kunkel said "I know" as opposed to "I think."

Its total speculation, I mean he even says "I think, I think" quite a bit

I get you take writers, posters and whatever you consider as an insider quite seriously but Kunkel is truly the worst of the worst.

Oh, we aint memeing anymore?

Not when it's one that demonstrates you don't get it.

We just had a discussion about how one of our resident insiders accurately reported our interest in Derek Carr. People goofily tried using the fact that Carr signed somewhere else to discredit them.

That's not how the real world works.

All sports reporters are covering situations that are very fluid. It's the nature of their business.

If you don't understand that, you're not gonna be able to apply a realistic standard.

That’s a problem given his age and the systems he’s ran out of college. I will root for him if we draft him obviously but he is the last one I want out of the top 4 projected.

Okay, so this is about the random no name ALT account that predicted we were seriously interested in Carr, meanwhile everyone else was saying we were 'kicking the tires' or 'doing due diligence'.

Anyway, back to Will Kunkel.
