You must not know any Ravens fans

Just because they're a fan of the team doesn't mean they're smart.

I'm sure the Ravens have fans that want Lamar gone

Just like we have fans that thought we should trade Burns or thought that tanking under Wilks was something that was actually going torealistically happen, as if these arent men that have jobs to play for, we usually just call those people stupid and move on.

Because we’re in such a great position for a franchise QB now anyways. The pro tank fans wanted Rhule to finish the year for draft position, dipshit

I'll say this: When I saw the news about the non-exclusive tag, my first thought was this was gonna be a replay of the Watson saga, AKA Panther fans spending an inordinate amount of time pining for something that ultimately wasn't gonna happen.

Instead it looks like the whole story played out in no time at all.

So it seems Step Next will be to talk about drafting our QB of the future...after free agency, of course.

Hell of a day...

What Ravens fans think: they like the guy but seem to have  realistic perspective

"He could hold out but does he really want to leave behind all those millions? The Ravens still kind of hold the cards."

"Do I think there's collusion? Of course. I think there's tons of it on both sides every year.

I also think that Lamar is asking for one of two things (or both)... a) a 4-5 year contract, fully guaranteed, or b) a long term deal with more gtd $ than Watson (i.e. at least $230M gtd).

And I think its extremely likely that no team in the league is willing to meet that asking price AND surrender at least two first round picks to do so"

"Players are pretending to be dumb. They know the NFLPA and Lamar screwed up. If he had a sanctioned agent a deal would have been done , instead he chose the devil on his shoulder in the form of the NFLPA and full guaranteed dollars"

"It's a shame he got such bad advice, who knows what could have been if he had an agent that would have negotiated a proper deal last year. No way all of this crap hasn't weighed on his mind and affected his play.

Lamar really needs to put this shiz behind him, get a contract in place and get his ass to work."

"Honestly I am not surprised so many teams are out on Lamar. He is a great player but no one is going to throw significant guaranteed money at a mobile QB who has taken big injuries the past 2 seasons and has not been near that MVP level in either of them, save for a 3 game stretch this season. Basically if there is going to be another team to make the same blunder as the Browns it would need to be on a player who does not have the injury history Lamar does"

"If lamar declined some poo like that, he is ***** crazy."

"I feel if you are going to give up 2 firsts and all the money Lamar wants, you better be a team who is a QB away from a Super Bowl. Those teams that aren't interested? They are rebuilding and do not want to take on that contract. Given how valuable rookie contracts have become for QBs... that's easier to deal with than $250M or whatever Lamar wants."

"It has become very clear that the Watson deal was an aberration and no other team is stupid enough to emulate it which is why this situation is what it is to begin with and that is before any of the other question marks."

I'm having a hard time finding Ravens fans who don't want Lamar to step off of his stance and negotiate a contract. Not seeing any yet that want the team to cave.

Its not about Lamar unfortunately. It's the battle to normalize fully guarunteed contracts

In the end, Lamar has been holding his team hostage for a while on this. Not a lot of teams are willing to risk running into that wall someday themselves.

Exactly. He bailed on his teammates on a potential Super Bowl run. If you offer him a 4 year - $190mil deal, it’s effectively only a 3 year deal because he’s proven he’ll sit for vital games in the last year, effectively holding the team hostage until they cater to his contract demands.

I’m not going to say I don’t understand Lamar’s stance, but I imagine the Ravens fans and organization would be more eager to throw a huge contract his way if he displayed a team first mentality this postseason.

By not having an agent, he also doesn't have someone whispering in his ear, "You are mortal, take this offer and get your ring... this is a fantastic team, great coach, excellent organization, loyal fanbase... you won't find that elsewhere."

You took off totally in the wrong direction with my comment. I don’t know where you are cherry picking your comments from but I don’t see any of that on Twitter.

My point in bringing in the fans perspective was to share what they thought of their QB as  a new team would look at our comments if they inherited Sam.

I also see you completely dodge the other points regarding him missing games, never having a full season, not having an agent, and the wear and tear that’s accumulated on his body. Instead you jump on the most subjective portion of the post that you can cherry pick to fit your narrative.

Welp looks like the owners have come together. Nobody is even going to offer him a contract.lol Browns are stuck with that Watson contract. The rest of the owners aren't having it.

Probably because if you’re a NFL QB you should hire an agent. What a fuging egomaniac…

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
