Offer him the Kyler Murray contract.

I agree but Baltimore would just match it and tell Lamar see? No one giving you guaranteed money.  Also, even though the media hasn't screamed race, they are screaming collusion, which is their way of implying a bunch of white owners conspiring against a black player. The undertones of these articles are certainly filled with race. I think only two owners are dumb enough to offer a fully guaranteed contract and one already did that with the massage enthusiast and the other is trying to sell the Commandos.

How much is kylers guaranteed, my understanding is Baltimore offered 133 and wouldn’t budge, if kylers is more, that could do it.

Then let them match it.lol

It's not hard. Just offer him a contract at least show the fans we are trying to find a winning QB.

How the hell do you go after the weirdo Watson but not even go after Lamar. It makes no sense.

I agree.  And if Baltimore shocks us and says give us two 1's, all the better.

They have been killing us and Atlanta this morning about not offering Lamar a contract. Basically called us losers because we aren't trying to sign a QB who wins.

Even if you don't like Lamar, why are we not even offering a contract?

We don't have to offer him the Watson contract. Offer him the Kyler Murray contract. I just don't understand how Tepper went all out for Watson but he's not even interested in Lamar who has a better resume.

No one worth their salt at any front office position for any professional sports team cares what “they” say.

I do because they seem to be right.

We have gone downhill since we last actually had a franchise QB.

If Tepper likes losing then keep signing the Darnold's/Mayfield's/Bridgewater's of the league and see how that works out for us.

I know im annoying some people because im defending Lamar "the player". You can question his contract cool. But you can't question his talent as a QB. He's a true franchise QB that can't be debated.

Lamar has missed 10 regular season games in the past two seasons at the most critical time.

His playing style means he most likely won’t have a long career.

He would be worth looking at if his contract was reasonable AND we didn’t have to give up 2 1st rounders to get him.

The draft picks are a killer.

Actually it can be debated. His injuries are a legitimate concern. How does he fit into your offense can be questioned. His talent as a QB absolutely need to be questioned. How signing him allows you to build a team around him can be questioned. All of these and much more factor into whether or not he can be OUR franchise QB.

Contrary to what you keep repeating. LJ did not win 75% of his games. His team won 75% of the games in which he played. How much he was directly responsible for those wins or losses is a completely different statistical analysis.

Remember, Payton Manning had one of the worst games by a QB in SB history and still won (with some ref help). Denver's defense dominated and he got the win. It's a total team that wins, not just the one with the flashiest superstar.

Some people said he could have played at the end of the season but he sat out to protect his bag. I can see that being true.

If true that 10 games is more like 6 games. Is 6 games enough for us to call a guy injury prone?

If he sat to protect his bag as you put then I can see why teams are not interested.

    • The thing I like most about Walker is his character--he is dripping with leadership and class.  I used to sit in a coaches office when I taught at Walker's high school before Jalon was born---and talk to his dad and the other Catawba College coaches. They showed me film and talked x and o stuff.  I barely remember it, but I liked Bennett, and when Coastal Carolina started their program, he took Jalon's dad with him.  So I have many reasons to want Walker on the team and I know he has a football background better than most.  I think Jalon's father returned to Salisbury to coach Catawba later, when Jalon was born.  I have heard (from former colleagues) that he is a "great kid."   That means a lot. Having said that, there is a concern that he could bust because he was not always working on his pass rushing moves, etc.  Looking great in college is one thing; as I have said before, people playing 1 role all the time look great in college film, but half of the first rounders bust.  So I have to think of his as a bit more raw than a guy who gets DE/edge reps 24-7.  This does not mean he can't do it; it means I worry that he does not have the depth of training he needs to transition well to the NFL.  He has to be developmental to a degree--so that is where I am coming from-your points are valid, based on selected known quantities, but we obviously are dealing with some unknown variables that should be considered objectively.  That is where I am.
    • I feel you... our scheme is safety specific but I only hate that Evero is involved. I don't mind the talent but  Evero shouldn't have much say in the decision.
