Not really. You just don't like the fact that Stephen A. reported something seemingly at odds with the grain. Notice that he has not recanted a damned thing, and there's a reason why.

It's been odd we have been quiet on Lamar yet we went all out for Watson.

Tepper might be cooking up something behind the scenes. Frank did say they will explore all options at QB. If Lamar becomes available you better bet we will at least put in a call. I think the money is where it could get tricky.

I've only heard that his mom is leading the negotiations.  That's the only report the both sides have confirmed through their comments.

It would seem that in yours, words only matter if they're saying what you want them to say.

In reality, everybody else's words are different than Smith's words. You choose to believe Smith because he's saying what you want to hear. I choose not to because, again he's not an investigative reporter and it's highly unlikely that his statement (coming from someone with an agenda) is more truthful than a dozen others with none.

I get why you'd want a frame me as doing what it is you're actually doing, but I think it's pretty clear everyone can see that.

To make sure we are on the same page, Kirk Cousins got a fully guaranteed deal when he joined the Vikings.  He was the one that got the ball rolling.  Watson getting the same thing confirmed what we already knew, which was if a potential franchise QB hit the open market they wouldn't have to play by the same rules as everyone else.  And Watson wasn't even technically on the open market and still got paid.

Lamar would be smart to stick to his guns on this one.  There is no reason to cave.  Even if they tag him each of the next 3 seasons he's going to make a ton of money and STILL come out of the other end being able to hit the open market.
