Do we agree trading up to #3 with Cardinals is the best option for the team?

They better be sure because this elite staff wont be around long and we will be left to deal with the consequences.Hopefully Fitterer thinking beyond the obviously temporary Elite staff status.

Not a very positive insight but I'm in believe that this staff will have a much more of a democratic leadership style approach.

So what is your plan to get better at the most important position in all of professional sports?

As Linville Gorge pointed out,  there could be a generational QB in this draft..  but when I refer to a generational QB, I'm referring to the QB coming out that is almost a sure shot to be that person..Payton Manning,  Andrew Luck,  Cam Newton .  So yes, there might be a QB that turns out to be a HOF.

So we have needs at other positions.  NO MORE NEEDS THAN QB,, but no one has convinced me that the top 5 QB's are a  road to the super bowl. So don't spend draft capital on someone who's a maybe. Pick the best one one available at 9 .. then go after the teams other needs.

I'm not against trying to pick up Carr for under $35 mill ,,  and give a young QB a little time learning the speed of the NFL .

It's just my opinion. If in 5 years Levis might be a great QB .. and all the Levis fans will say I told you so. But all we have to do is look at the past 10 years of QBs drafted in the first round to see the ones that didn't make it.

I'd love to see Carrol play great,, but I have my doubts

I would love to get the #1 pick but what it would take to move up would hurt us in the short term. Yeah we would have our choice of any of the QB's, but it would still be a huge gamble we would have to hit on.

I rather trade up to #3 and keep that extra 1st round pick we would lose if we traded with the Bears. We are guaranteed at least one of the top 3 QB's. They all same to be on the same tier as talents. I want Stroud but I would be happy with AR or Bryce at #3 or vice versa.

Basically it would take 3 1st round picks to get to #1. For the #3 pick we could probably get it with 2 1st round picks and maybe a later round pick. That seems to be the safe option just trading to #3 and getting the QB that falls into our lap.

Thoughts?

Cam Newton was not considered a sure shot or generational. He had alot of the same concerns that someone like Richardson and Levis has. He was sorta viewed as the consolation prize when Luck decided to stay put at Stanford.

I'd like to see Corral, but there are more than just injury concerns that dropped him out of the 1st/2nd in a horrible QB class.

Crazy how Cam got a team to the SB and Luck never got there.

That's a subject for another day.

Yeah.

I just wasn't expecting a response. That seemed like it triggered you.

I wasn't saying Cam was better. I was just pointing out how Cam got a team to a SB when Luck was considered a generational QB. You would think Luck would have got there more than Cam.

No big deal.

Wasn't suggesting Luck was better. I'm just saying 1 man cannot do it by themselves.  Ask Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford or any qb for that matter.

I too found that ironic. Frankly, Luck underachieved and Cam likely over achieved based on pre-draft outlooks. I think we were all led to believe that Luck was the second coming of Christ. We'll never know I guess

    • He's made some plays but he's also missed throws when it mattered. An interception and timely fumble got the win vs the Giants. The true test of whether or not he's progressing is going to come against playoff caliber teams. Next season? It's unpopular, but I'd bring in several QBs, one through the draft if we like him. I'd bring in Jones (for the right price) or Hooker if we could get him to compete with Bryce and Dalton for the starting and backup position and cut whoever doesn't get it done. Draft position be damned at this point. Put the best QB on the field and take out the trash.
    • Think that cat head is big enough?
    • This is like a throwback to an alternate universe where Jerry had the field designed the way it should've been.
