I was about to say the rumor was Levis.

I seem to remember a poster on the huddle sharing numerous stories about Tepper being fond of Stroud. Mainly, I remember this because of my reaction to this news.  Shrugs.... I dont know if I can google these rumors, haha.

It was a rumor some mentioned on here about Tepper casually asking some report off the record about "what he thought of that guy", meaning Levis. So they jumped to the conclusion that Tepper had a hard on for Levis.  I've seen the latest rumor its Stroud but I attributed it to just another rumor like the Carr interest. It's all speculation.

I think you have to figure out what team in front of us is looking for a developmental prospect or an immediate starter.  And what coaches may not have the job security to take a long term project.

I've heard that Texans like Young but after his height questions and the way Stroud threw the ball i would think Stroud is the guy at 2. Steichen is brand new and drafting AR will give him an excuse to suck early. Taking Young and then having him not succeed seems to be the biggest risk for a coach/GM.

If we don't trade down, we will be picking Will Levis at 9. We need to get in front of the Raiders and then I think one of Young, Stroud, or AR will drop to us.  Hopefully not AR. Of course all this goes out the window if someone trades into the Bears or Cardinals spot.

I don't like the look of Levis, but if he's the guy at #9, fine, just give him a short leash and go again next year if he sucks.

LaDainian Tomlinson just compared Stroud to Geno Smith and Levis to Josh Allen. Baldy couldn't come up with a comparison for Richardson.  Said if he gets the right situation behind a good vet qb he could end up being the best of the class. Take that however you want.

Tepper was high on Fields for his draft. Maybe you are remembering that? There was a rumor he was high on Levis but that was before last season.

Newspapers are a dead business and they've been in managed decline mode for my entire adult life. I had to unfollow my local small town newspaper on social media because it was just completely trash. Celebrity gossip, national level culture war BS, etc. Like you're a small town (sub-20k) western NC newspaper. I'm following you for local stories. When I couldn't even find the sports schedule for the local HS playoff games anywhere on their site I was like... oh just fug off and fold already. LOL!

Very true. Newspapers filled a worthy purpose with local news, local High School sports, etc. Most were not big money makers, but they were a huge part of the local community. Unfortunately they are a casualty of the digital age. The local paper where I live has been sold four times, is now down to 3 days a week by mail delivery. I have to go to the local high schools web site or max preps to see if the team(s) schedule. It is sad. I subscribe to the Charlotte Observer digital to follow the Panthers, and follow this site.
