College performance, ultimately doesn’t matter. You scout for what you think they can do as a pro.

It 1000000% matters. Believing a guy is going to magically improve because he touches an NFL field and faces way harder competition is not realistic. Just because it has happened before does not mean it is the recipe for success. People like to use Josh Allen as an excuse like he wasn't manhandling linebackers and launching the football 70 yards in the air. He got put into a perfect NFL system for him and developed great. It happens sometimes. The bottom line is that the overwhelming majority of successful NFL players were also successful in college.

Nah, he called McCown if I remember right.  And I would link it if I could remember the thread, but I don't now...  it was a guy who popped up around the same time, username is Leaky Faucet.  He said we were gonna assess the QB class after the combine and then commit to moving up and deciding what path to take with the vet options.

got it - thanks. This coming week is the week that the trades convos start to get heavy. Typically teams want to know where they would be drafting before entering FA

According to our insider here, the staff isn't waiting for pro days.  Their mind will be made up after tomorrow and they'll make their move accordingly.

I hope it's AR, and not just because of the combine...  the combine just enhanced his value.

My only question is what exactly does that mean? Do we identify a specific guy? Because that means going to #1  Do we identify say three guys that we'd be thrilled to have and that means moving up to at least #3? Are we just trying to decide if we're still in the market to try to trade for #1?

I don't know.

Guys like Ken Dorsey would have been first rounders off their college production.
