True, but AR is not going to be running every single play. He's fast ... neat. That means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. Maybe AR should be a TE. Or hell ... let's put the fastest WRs and DBs in at QB.

We need to see how AR throws on a throw by throw basis, under pressure, how his footwork is, and how well he can play in the pocket. If he knocks all that out of the park ... he's the man. If not, he's just a freak of nature and you need more than that as a QB.

Sack Avoidance and Pocket Movement

One of my favorite things about Anthony Richardson is how he doesn’t take sacks and moves well in the pocket. His 9.2% pressure to sack rate (PFF) is elite level of sack avoidance. As we can see in the graph below, pressure to sack rate stays pretty stable from college to the pros so it is fair to assume Richardson will have great sack avoidance in the NFL too.

AR proved today what everybody thought earlier..

Raw ball of clay that needs time to develop.. If you draft him you need a bridge QB and a plan to sit and develop him.. If done right you might have a top 5 QB in the league.. But there is a if…..

I'm confused as to how Anthony Richardson performing well at the combine changes anything. Did anyone not know he was super athletic and big? Him being that crazy of a physical specimen and still not being that great of a college football player isn't alarming to anyone?

I might be the only one that feels this way but I don't actually get that impressed when he runs. He's talented and the athleticism is clearly there but he didn't seem to be consistently running through or around people. Every once in a while he'd make a straight up insane play (his highlights are crazy), but I watched half of their games and was just kinda underwhelmed the entire time. Taking him at #9 and trying to coach him makes a lot of sense but trading up for him seems like the risk is substantially greater than the reward imo

I agree with you on him as a runner. He's obviously a serious running threat but he doesn't have the vision, moves, or raw power as a runner that Cam had.

Lol Y’all need to calm down. Cam matched tape with the 10. AR doesn’t.

Seriously. Some people need to go back and watch some of Cam Newton in college. He didn't have that great of a team either but damn near singlehandedly went undefeated. He is one of the most dominant college athletes ever and AR15, respectfully, is not even in the same conversation.

Sheena disagrees with some of you here..

But although Levis had bad WRs, bad O-Line, and was injured all year and toughed through it, some Huddlers thinks he sucks. Then the same huddlers give different consideration to Richardsons stats and blame his poor accuracy on his teammates.

    • I’m going with Nick Emmanwori as the pick right now. Charlie Campbell has him ranked 5th on his post combine big board and another safety is needed.
    • That is ridiculous on several levels. First of all you have to spend 90% of your cap space every year so the idea you can just not spend it every year is against the CBA. Secondly your job is to assemble the best team you can for the fans players and team. Not to save money for the owner.  Third many players who are considered great underperform while others like Luvu and Jackson have overperformed. What about a  great player like Derek Brown who was injured and missed all of last year. Was he a waste of money?? Sure pay DK a fools ransom and hope he stays healthy. He didn't even get 1000 yards last year which averages out to 60 yards a game or play all 16 games.  And lets be real, Jones and Watson aren't  great but they aren't being paid that much either. Real glad you aren't the GM.
    • Not necessarily, they very well could just be waiting on the players who will get cut in the coming weeks/months as cap casualties and wanting to have the cap room to be able to offer more than other teams (likely our best shot at finding immediate pass rushing help for next year at this point). Also wouldn't be the end of the world to try and roll some cap into next offseason to have more space to go after bigger FA's. That's a better move than signing guys who really won't help much more than whoever else we can get on minimum or rookie deals.
