Moore IS a better option than Jake.

Hostile, cold environment?

You pay quarterbacks to play and win in that situation. Either he does, or doesn't. All I am asking is that he show something to hang our hats on and call him the starting QB.

He's getting every QB2's dream... a shot to come off the bench and take over. He has to prove that either he can do it, or that he can lift the team up so that they can do it. It doesn't matter who the opponent is, or what the weather will be. Every game isn't played in a dome on 7 days of rest.

Can he do it? I sure hope so, I hope the kid takes the chance and runs with it. I hope he locks down the starting gig for next year. If he can look good over the next four games, win or lose, it'll mean a lot. But to make excuses at this stage on his behalf shows a lack of confidence, kind of a flinch before the punch reaction.

If he can't do it, then he's just soaking up a spot on the bench, stuck between McCown and Feeley... two guys who've never proven that could hold the reins of a team. Between them, he'll never get better, never get pushed. Right now the only two things that can push him are his desire to be a winner and his desire to keep Delhomme on the bench -- competition, pure and simple.

If he can compete, he's set to start next year. If not... they may clean house completely.

brady sure did well for himself coming in for an injured drew bledsoe. i guess you never really know until you're given a shot. for every brady, there are 100 failures i am sure... but at the very least, he's certainly a better option than jake and hopfully the jake delhomme fiasco is over for good in carolina.

Well now you've got me all confused. In your signature, you claim the Panthers are "proudly saying no to black QBs since 1995" which comes off as really goddamn racist. And now you're talking about needing to give young black QBs a chance.

Hell, maybe I just need to leave work and go home to sleep.

Signature makes no sense - Pete played well after 1995 :P

Ah, the forum amateurs come out in full force!

His signature is sarcastic. (Id est: he isn't racist.)

I'd say he is pretty damn racist. He's always posting about us needing to sign black QB. Why should it matter what race the QB is as long as he is good. There are a lot of things to take into consideration about signing or drafting QBs but color is not one them. Just the fact that he brings up race at all pretty much says to me he is racist.
