I honestly don't pay attention to cap anymore after what teams have done the past 3ish years.  The game has changed.  Cap shmap, it is what it is.  If we want a FA and they like our fit, we'll figure it out.

Wouldn't hate the Allen move, but can he remain healthy for a whole season?

He got injured last year but still had 10 games (750 yards), that was coming off a previous 5 in a row full seasons averaging 1100 and 6 tds.  Not bad.  Early career was a bit more injury buggy.

Thought I was the only one on this board who wanted Lamar.

No. I'd take him in a heartbeat for anything just north of 50-mil-per or less. Unlike most here, I'm not crying over spending for a legit franchise QB. People who are trying to assigm more blame to him for B-more not winning than the FO simply just don't like him. People who say that he can't pass are flat out wrong, as his career passer rating is very respectable. He simply hasn't been put in the best position to succeed, but even still he has made his team a legit competitor while he's been there. He has some injuries, but most QBs do. I don't blame him for not playing hurt when the team has failed to put any skin in the game.

For those saying Stroud at QB, probably more realistic to not have half of our receiving corps and our rb picked with 2nd and 3rd rounders this year since at least a couple of those will go towards the trade up

One of those 2nds is gone for sure.  It's why I gave ranges.

QBs: Stroud, Geno, Corral

WRs: DJ, JuJu (FA), draft pick (one of the UT WRs), TMJ, Shenault, Andre Roberts

TEs: Gisicki (FA), Dalton Kincaid (draft), Tremble

RBs: D'Onta Foreman, draft pick (maybe Mcintosh earlier or Bigsby later), Chuba

OL: same starters as last year + cade mays. get rid of other guys and draft a couple mid rounders and pick up a bargain FA or two.

I will say in thinking about this, it made me remember we have Shenault here (2020 2nd rounder) who did flash at times.

Do wonder how the new staff will view him in respect to the future.  Still 2 years left on his rookie deal.

    • so the most accurate mocker there is currently and the the guy who has gotten the panthers pick twice are both calling Walker here at 8?  starting to think maybe we're getting Walker.
    • Whatever. I am so ready to not see any more mock drafts until there is a draft worth talking about in the 1st. Even the top 2 guys in this draft are underwhelming in comparison.
    • I'm having a hell of a time trying to make projections for Carolina due to the giant question mark that is Jacksonville. Looking over their roster, they're a prime candidate to trade back. Most of the top prospects are going to be at positions they've already made investments in and are getting returns on: RB (Jeanty) - Travis Etienne (2021 1st), Tank Bigsby (2023 3rd) OT (Membou) - Walker Little (2021 2nd), Anton Harrison (2023 1st) TE (Warren) - Brenton Strange (2023 2nd) DT (Graham) - Davon Hamilton (2020 3rd), Maason Smith (2024 2nd), Jordan Jefferson (2024 4th), Arik Armstead LB (Walker) - Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd (2022 1st), Chad Muma (2022 3rd), Ventrell Miller (2023 4th) EDGE (Walker) - Travon Walker (2022 1st), Josh Hines-Allen (2019 1st) Looking at the investments already made, if the Jags were too go with one of those positions I could see them leaning towards a rotational edge rusher or an upgrade at tight end for TLaw. Their most pressing need (imo) is at CB. I could also see them looking to go WR as well, but all scenarios point to the optimal outcome for the Jags to be move back, acquire more draft capital, and take the best prospect rather than the most needed position. This spirals a bit when I start to try and figure out what Carolina will do. If Warren or Graham falls to them they will have to determine whether or not they're better off passing on them and getting extra depth from this class. Trying to read the tea leaves, I think that they've made peace with that and are willing to move back and look to take either the best SLB or WLB available (Mykel Williams or Donovan Ezeiruaku, imo).
