I'm thinking that the prevailing notion here is that Carr is the way to go. For me, that will be a disappointment, but I know that it could be worse.

I think the true "prevailing opinion" here is that we have a staff that knows what they're doing and we'll ultimately trust their decision.

Even those people who have a preference for one quarterback or another have tended to say this.

I thought the knock on him was his field vision.  He cannot process fast enough

I’m not sure about field vision but, 58:5 indicates he’s pretty good at not throwing interceptions.  The best comment I have read on Hooker is that he has beautiful, NFL ready footwork and throwing motion, climbs the pocket well and 58:5.  He would not be a bad consolation prize if the top four are gone.

After Stroud, Hooker might be as good as any of the others available.

Or so I've been told.

Buyer beware, all sales are final.

I know I will get pooed for this but, if the top four are gone at 1R9, take BPA.  Trade back up into 1R mid or late round and take Hooker.  This seems like a lower risk, high value get at QB.

For those who will poo this suggestion, "I am immune to your disdain."

He wouldn't be a day 1 starter. Best chance he has to start is backup to an injured vet.

Only way I take him is as a backup to a vet I was planning to use the next couple years.

He won’t even be playing next year if reality exists..

His injury happened way to late in the season for this dude to play next year.. Especially without the risk of further injury happening..

I could see a mid-late season start because of injury to another QB. Otherwise we probably wouldn't see much of him til the next season.

Which would make him finally starting at 27 years old? Oof....

I have have said numerous times in this thread, Hooker should be completely off our draft board for numerous reasons.   We as a franchise are not in a position to spend a 2nd or even a 3rd round pick on a prospect like hooker.

There is nothing spectacular about him, but spectacular is what is needed. He could be a really good QB later on. There's just too many issues and not enough of the really good stuff to make you think you can build on and around him.

The one thing that did impress me is he didn't wilt in the big moment. While he may not have always been a success, he didn't play with fear. That's something we haven't seen since Cam when he was healthy.

And that’s where my problem comes.. Him not getting on field development until he’s 27 and his 2nd contract being a issue as he turns 31..

I can see that. I just wanted to see more.
