Qualification over Gentrification

Now I know the term gentrification has one meaning to most which usually starts an ugly argument but it also can mean “the process of making someone or something more refined, polite, or respectable”.

I say that to say this, if the more “respectable” route was to hire Wilks would we really have had a proper staff in place under him just to suffice the medias push for more black head coaches just to quell an ongoing but true argument that there aren’t enough in those position. Rather than utilizing affirmative action tactics and setting these gentlemen up to fail we have started something great with the staff we have built and are the  ONLY team with a black OC and DC. They were the best fit for the job and they were qualified enough to get HC consideration. Now I’m not saying they will be shoe in HC in the near future but how things are looking they are set up very well going forward and will gain the proper experience on the way to achieving that milestone.

The article referenced below is a breath of fresh air to see positive news about our coaching staff and how we have incorporated diversity. This is not only the most exciting staff to date but probably the most diverse I have seen in my 3 decades of watching the NFL.

For those of you ready to poo post or read between the lines, I am an open minded person of color that does not let any personal bias dictate how I believe business should be run and just want to see the Panthers win their first SB. I don’t care how we do it I just want it to happen while I’m still capable of celebrating it to the fullest.
