Yeah one is a professional QB coach looking at tape vs us fans looking at ESPN stats. I’m not saying he will be Burrow, that is obviously his ceiling, but playing style is way more Burrow than Fields.

Agree to disagree.. If you want them.. Go get them..

You have to hope Irsay gets a man-crush on Levis.  Jumping ahead of Indy to get to #3 will be too rich for my taste.  Pie-in-the-sky discount scenarios to jump all the way up from #9 is pure pipe dreaming.  Indications are the Lions are going to stick with Goff, so we will just have to get ahead of the Raiders at #6.

This ^ 100%. And even the part about it feeling weird.

If he's on the table for them, then he's there for a really good reason. If he's not, then there's a really good reason. We aren't approaching this like we're trying to recruit some guy with the promise of a scholarship and a starting gig vs some SEC team.

Right now, even if they decide that Darnold will be the starter, I'm going to go, okay... you guys know better than me.

Yep. This isn't the group of idiots who ran the team before.....well the team led by an idiot Rhule.

This is a team of coaches and a staff that has at least a hundred more years of pro experience than rhules staff of hacks.

These guys have experience and poo tons of knowledge and a lot of success behind them. They know what they're doing.

I understand wanting to get a discount.. But if you want the guy you pay what you need to.. Jmo I think Stroud and Young are worth the price to play.. So go get them and leave no risk..

I feel the  same. Year after year we spend capital on scrubs or we just play it safe. Could of moved up a couple spots and got Herbert. It's time for them to pinpoint and stop gambling on outcast  and develop our own.  I'm for certain veterans but we can't continue to play these games with the Qb spot. Especially  now that we have our 1st Offensive minded coach.

There absolutely is a risk and forfeiting 2024's first rounder (at minimum) is too much to ask. Moving up to #5 is much more palatable.

Visit a trade chart and also the QB draft graveyard, then see if the risk of *no matter what* is reality or hyperbole.  I mean we can do a Ricky Williams-type trade and move all the way up to #1.  I mean, although a RB, dude was a can't miss prospect, right?

I think if/when they are sold on one or the other they will likely start trying to make moves.  I would think the staff that they have put together along with Fitt will be aggressive if they are sold on the QBs.

It may be a very fun couple of months leading up to the draft.

No risk in getting your guy.. The whole thing is a risk but giving up picks for a QB you have conviction in is the price to play in this situation… Sorry but fug next years 1st if I get my QB..  Expectations are that pick will be in the 20 anyway…

Spoken like playing with house money.  Yes, absolutely there is a risk and NONE of these guys close to a sure thing.  It would sad, but this board will be crying the blues if we move up, dude looks middling-to-bad and next year's QB class is loaded while we are forced to watch helplessly without a first rounder.

And we'd know right away that Josh McCown managed to convince Frank to keep Sam around for a bit, given their past relationship.

At the same time, though, I just have a feeling we will sign another Vet.

But as you stated, no matter what they decide to do, at least they'll be smarter than Rhule.  lol

(well okay that's not what you exactly stated but you get my point)

Not playing with House money at all.. Just willing to take a shot and JMo Stroud and Young are worth taking the shot for..

Also we said the same thing last year about this years QB class so we can keep saying the same thing every year that next year class is worth taking the shot but at some point you have to take the shot..

Also I don’t understand how anybody here thinks with better coaching and this roster.. We will be anywhere close to getting Maye or Williams anyway… We will probably be a better team and have to give up more next year to get them.. ??? So why is that even a thought??

You have to take a risk at some point! Each year they say the next group of qbs are going to be better but by the time the media pundits and draft gurus nitpick, you are left with only 2 guys with hype usually. It never failed it seems. If Frank and crew see they guy THEY want and agree on it... go get him...
