Did Godfrey start today?

well, the guys are the Observer are reporting Godfrey did get the starting job back. Proof again, Fox starts his guys over talent unless injury forces his hand.

Jake will be back unless he goes to IR. Also, I firmly believe Jarrett or Moore could be make the offense more productive if they got Moose's # of targets.

Or that Fox thought Godfry would be the best player for the game. And judging by Godfry's play he made a pretty decent call.

On the Bryant deep passes Godfrey was out of position and there were quite a few times where he failed to make an adjustment within his zone. He lacks the ability to consistently read the offense in a manner a safety has to, he is much more suited for a CB spot than FS...

yep. An easy pick and pass defended (which was only batted after it was resting in the hands of the WR) and people tend to overlook his normal "Godfrey" play out there today......he simply is always out of position or late getting there......it was evident again today. Martin makes the reads and gets into position. There is no way the secondary will hold up against NE with his play next week. The simple calls are the ones Fox struggles w/ the most.

So? Martin didnt have easy picks? Martin hasnt been out of position? I have a feeling if Martin played the exact same game it would be said he played well. Do you really think Martin wouldve have had that much of a better performence then godfry this game?

No, Martin has cashed in when opponents have made mistakes. That isn't what made him the better S. The fact Martin can recognize what is going on and get into position to prevent and make stops makes him the better S.

Yes, I do think Martin would have been better. Martin proved he can get into position......Godfrey was late getting to where he should have been several times today. Martin has never showed Godfrey's flaws to that extreme degree. Godfrey is a liability in both defending the pass and run....and getting a freebie pick didn't change that today. He positions himself in no man's land and to be a non factor on plays....allowing teams to have easy plays and he arrives late giving little or no help.

The Godfrey situation has always bothered me probably more than the Jake situation. Godfrey was too big of a laibility last year and this year. Jake only became a disaster this year. Fox is ignoring both and pretending he can continue to play them out of there poor play when better options currently exist

Godfry was switched from his positon and was a rookie. There was reason not to be suprised by his play in his first season.

Godfry has alot more expierence and came up big in key plays. Martin has been flashy, and may well be better. But I wouldnt call it idtiotic or Fox loving "his guys" because he played the guy.

One game, over one player, and suddnely the people who thought it was a myth are wrong?

Beason, Marshall, Gamble, Captian, Peppers, Davis, Gross, Otah, Godfry, Wharton. And these are just a few.

If it wasnt a myth, why did he start all those players over vets?

Fox's flaw is when commits to players(rookies, vets, and everything inbetween)....once he commits to a player he sticks with them. Fox committed to making Godfrey work last year......he will stick with him. He won't make a change midseason once he commits/invest in a player heading into a season unless injury forces him. That is his flaw. It isn't so much about being a vet......it is about Fox buying into a player.....and once he does he doesn't see clearly.

Jake and Godfrey are just examples of him doing it this season......despite it being pretty clear now Fox is wrong.....and by the end of the season him sticking w/ both will prove to be huge mistakes.

there are indirect quotes from articles and the Q and A they do. They acknowledged in an article that Godfrey made his first start since his injury in one and in the Q and A were asked directly why Godfrey got the start ahead of Martin......there response was Godfrey was the starter b/c he had more experience and his play showed it was the right call...........imo they are caught up like some were with Jake after beating Atlanta. One average game doesn't change what you really are.

One reporter gave his opnion in a sentence that he wouldnt see why Godfry wouldnt be the starter.
