What? He had a game winning drive vs NO this year. Lol

You’ve always argued against QBs that we’re inaccurate. Sam isn’t an accurate QB, and you’re arguing for him. You also don’t have the excuse that he’s on our team. He’s officially a free agent.

You guys almost have me willing to pay to have the last two games run on QB School

I would like to see if I'm as retarded as you guys say or not.

I mean you were his top fan before the game.  He has a top 5 worst QB performance in history of the NFL and you think it wasn't his fault at all....  I think you might be just a little bit bias.

For the record I don't think he is terrible.  He is just inconsistent.  If something goes wrong during play I think he will make a mistake more times than not.  If everything is going fine he looks the part.  He can run, make NFL throws, and seems like a good teammate.

Actually, Bridgewater is discount Brissett. If you look at their pay recently, Brissett would cost more money.

The difference between Brissett/Bridgewater is that they can run your offense in an average manner, nothing spectacular. Darnold needs an offense tailored specifically to tale the ball out of his hands, because the more you lean on him, the more he is going to fug up. He also needs it to be very simple because he is not capable of reading the field as well as either of the other two QB's.

Darnold's "magic" has been maybe 1-3 games in his entire career. By any statistical measure, that would be a pretty obvious outlier.

My point is that Brissett is even worse than Teddy, and absolutely should not be any kind of starter. Has Sam (or other guys like him) sucked pretty hard at times? Sure, but even those flashes are more than milqueotast on-field players like Brissett and Bridgewater. Maybe just perosnal preference, but no thanks.

Sam is a high-end backup. There's not a thing in the world wrong with that because every team needs a good backup qb. He can come in and win a few games and be a competent replacement. It seems like every few games he will fall apart a bit though, and that's not starter material. He has the physical qualities but something is just a little off with the processing and what he sees happening on the field. He had a solid year, and should get a contract that pays him as a valuable backup.

I've argued against guys that can't throw. Sam can make all the elite throws.

He has the elite passing ability. Fields doesn't.

Sam needs mental improvement.

I am not advocating we go all in on him. I said 2 years 8mil per. Draft someone in those 2 years hopefully and may the best of the 3 rise to the top Corral Sam Draftee.

My plan is the correct plan. You know it's true.

It's OK. All the cool kids know it's true.

I'm pretty sure Fields had multiple games where he threw for under 100 yards. Yet the forum seems to think he is the next Tom Brady...

Bad games happen. He was one of the only reasons we had a chance to win the Bucs game the week before...

Can you spot the difference between Sam darnold and Justin fields game? I think you can. mrw GIF

Here’s where I see the disconnect on Darnold…

Posters, like myself, suggest Darnold is worthy of bringing back on a backup QB contract.

Other posters then come along and act as if it was suggested Darnold is our future at QB.

No, that’s not what I’ve seen posted here. We need a backup QB. We have one QB on the roster and he’s never played a snap in the NFL. It shouldn’t be considered “looney” to bring a backup QB in to play primarily backup QB on a backup QB contract.

I know you aren't saying he's our future but you and others at least in my view seem to give him the benefit of the doubt you don't offer to other QB's. There are other backup tier signal callers we can consider Sam is not the only free agent available. Reich and now Fitterer both have the added and IMO very important perspective of having learned from mistakes of giving highly touted yet underperforming quarterbacks teetering on bust status chance after chance. I think they will look to begin anew. You have to turn the page from mistakes.

Wait you think Fields doesn't have the PHYSICAL ability to make elite NFL throws???  He needs to work mentally on reads, footwork etc, but physically he is good to go.

Elite passing ability? Can make all the throws? Cam could do all that, yet you said you didn’t want another Cam or anything like him. Cam also had slightly better completion percentages.

All this is laughable. Your posts, and most of your posts critiquing QBs are hogwash. Just say you like Sam, and those other guys, you didn’t like.
