It's usually the drafts where people think is weak at QB that have a couple of stars.

We need to grab one of these QB's. We can't keep going the vet QB route. At least draft one and try to develop them. I mean that's why we hired Frank for right?

100% I’m on board with getting a QB I’m just nervous about giving him a rookie QB plus a lack of 1st round picks for his first two years.

I really hope we stay put but that’s mostly because my formative fan years were with Fox/Hurney.

Maye would be a top 3 pick in this year’s draft if eligible. Y’all can blah blah about ACC and talent if you’d like, but 6’4, 220lb QBs who can run and have an excellent feel for the game don’t come around too often.

He would be buts it’s early.  He will be dissected just like everyone else.  Do like Drake Maye and his pedigree

As a neutral Auburn fan I agree. He might be the top pick…

Yes and this qb draft is bad right now.If you lived in the now you would want the top FA Qb...why draft if you live in the now?

The “now” has 2 QBs worth the move up.  Outside of those 2 we are reaching and it’s super risky.  I don’t hate Levis but how can he lead a pro team to glory when he was incredibly average his entire career

I dont think any are worth moving up for, but it doesnt hurt my feelings if you do.I'll pull for whoever we get. Irregardless.

Richardson will likely be available at 9 if the Panthers want him.

Trading up to 3 in the draft would be a strong indication that Marty Hurney is back in the building.

I get the sentiment but Hurney was mostly gold with those first picks. Unfortunately everything after that was a$$. I'd hire Hurney for the 1st round, then kick him out of the building for the rest of the draft.

While not impossible, the first round is the hardest round to screw up on.  Yeah, Marty struck gold more often than not in the first round, but he also had a penchant for offering up future first round picks to chase questionable talent. As fans we were fortunate that his generous offers to other teams weren't always accepted or we would have been left with several years where the Panthers didn't have a draft pick in the first round.  If memory serves, that would include the first round pick that was ultimately used to pick Cam. The season prior he wanted to use it to move up in the draft to get Pickles. Fortunately no team took him up on the offer (turns out we still got Pickles, just didn't have to waste a future #1 pick to get him).

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
