This seems like you're implying that they shouldn't trade up for a QB, but this was not your initial assertion, which was that you don't think they would trade up. Feels like a pivot on your part to bring up Robbie as a slight on Fitt's decision making.

Since we're going to really parse words, how about I just say that I don't think they are going to trade up AND I think trading up is a stupid idea.

And yes, the Robbie contract IS a slight on Fit. As would be the Ian Thomas one. (I keep wanting to call him Ian Anderson... but he wouldn't make a very good tight end, especially at his age.)

Wait people want Stroud over Fields?

Im pretty sure Fields would go #1 in the draft given what we know.

The people saying Fields can't throw that is a flat out lie. He doesn't have time to read the field because his Oline is the worst in the league. Also who is he throwing to?

Chicago literally has nothing around him. Give me Fields over Stroud if given the option.

QUESTIONS:

Would it be cheaper to trade for the #1 or for Fields? How much cheaper? Should that matter?

I watched Stroud keep OSU highly competitive against a significantly superior UGA team. Period.

Seems like the goalposts of rationalization move based on whether or not you like a prospect.

"Significantly superior?" I don't know about that, and I'm a Georgia alum.

Honestly, I would take either with a concerted effort and focus to develop them. I suspect that Stroud is the better processor right now, but I also believe that Fields has a markedly higher ceiling overall. Development is likely the key. Neither one is a surefire bet, but of course Fields has invaluable NFL experience.

Has it? Didn’t realize OSU ran the same system with the same success every single year regardless of who was coach or QB. I completely forgot about all those JT Barrett 4K yd seasons.

I mean Urban, Day and Tressell all notoriously run super QB friendly systems that have not translated into the pros. Outside of Conor Cook and Russell Wilson a  OSU QB has won The Greise-Brees award in the last 13 years, and before that Pryor was making all big 10. What was the last time a OSU QBs struggled?
