Wasn’t Seifert an offensive guy?

Nope:

After working as an assistant at the University of Iowa, the University of Oregon, and Stanford University,[6] Seifert was hired as head coach at Cornell University. He was fired after going 3–15 in two seasons.[7] He then returned to Stanford in 1977, where he met Bill Walsh. When Walsh moved to the 49ers in 1979, Seifert joined his coaching staff the following year as the team's defensive backs coach. Seifert was promoted to defensive coordinator in 1983.

As a 49er assistant, Seifert defenses finished in the top ten in fewest points allowed in each of his six seasons in that capacity: fourth in 1983, first in 1984, second in 1985, third in 1986 and 1987, and eighth in 1988. His final two defenses, 1987 and 1988, finished first and third in fewest yards allowed, respectively.

Thank you to Jim fucsay, you tiger blooded fool!!! Thanks for firing Frank!!!!!!

But most reporting went if not Frank, then John...I mean Ron..... I MEAN Jon Rivox ver 3.33334 would be coaching here.........

Frank was not my first, but he was my 2nd. Hate to jump ahead, but his staff hiring needs to impress.

The people shitting on the Reich hire calling him a mediocre coach with a 40-33-1 head coaching record and caping for Wilks to get the job with a career *checks notes* 9-19 head coaching record really amuse me

These are the same guys who think Ron is a amazing HC.

I really wasn't big on Reich and didn't know much about him so I have no idea what to think here. Hope he is our Andy Reid or turns out to be. He should at bare minimum know how to develop a QB since he was one at a high level.

Reich is not Andy Reid...he was OC of the Eagles one year....that was Doug Peterson calling the shots...he took that win and bank a HC at Indy...before that

San Diego Chargers[edit]

Reich was hired by the San Diego Chargers, along with Whisenhunt, in 2013. When Whisenhunt left to become head coach of the Tennessee Titans, Reich was promoted to offensive coordinator.[14] On January 4, 2016, he was fired from his position as offensive coordinator after the Chargers finished 31st in rushing and struggled on offense.[15]

It’s like people forgot how much a downgrade he was from McDermott…

Right and that's supposed to be his bread and butter as a coach. I definitely do not recall any screaming about firing him being unfair. Same can be said for when we fired Eric Washington. Emotion is the common thread now.

Wilks is already a subpar DC as is, and people wanted him as HC with an even worse DC than he is......

I really dont get the Wilks love.

From what I'e gathered ...

1. He's local

2. He's a respectable man

3. Players like him

4. He was better than Rhule

5. He can lead

That's it. NOTHING about how he's a great coach, defensive wizard, offensive juggernaut, out thinks other coaches, gameplans better than most, etc. Nah ... it's that he's a GOOD GUY.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
