The guy has a SB ring as an OC. Went 40-33 with a Colts franchise that has lacked talent. With good OC/DC selections this could go well. Hopeful, and glad it isn't Wilks. Reich is good at coaching up QBs.

Where's that come from?

The kicked the poo out of us in that joint scrimmage in 2021.

I can't tell if the people in this thread that are excited about Reich are actually excited about having Reich or are just excited it isn't Wilks.

Honestly, this is a pretty meh hire. I think he will be something like a RR results wise - might get us to the playoffs 1 out of 3 years and won't do much of anything in the playoffs (unless he finds an elite QB to carry him).

Little of column A. Little of column B.

Uninspired retread hire. Low hanging fruit.

Obviously an improvement over Rhule but Tepper never fails to fail. Wilks earned the job, but that's too out of the box for the stodgy NFL, and Tepper is incapable of original thought. He is a follower, who hired the incompetent Rhule because he was the new shiny object.

    • Here’s another that we fans should keep in mind: Sometimes greatness takes time. Mahomes had the benefit of sitting a season behind Alex Smith after the Chiefs traded up to take him with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Young, last year’s top pick, started 16 games as a rookie, going 2-14, absorbing 62 sacks and posting the league’s worst passer rating.
    • https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5945028/2024/11/24/panthers-loss-bryce-young-chiefs/?source=user_shared_article This quote from the article in The Athletic caught my attention: The quarterback on the other sideline was equally impressed. “I thought he played his tail off, man. He throws a really good ball,” Patrick Mahomes said. “I think Texas Tech was the first one to offer him when he was in eighth grade. I was at Texas Tech, so I remember watching his highlight tapes then and knew he was going to be a great player.”
    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
