Steichen will have little of that prepared this time around. If he doesn't go anywhere this time he will in the future for sure.

Could also be that he has more pressing things to worry about right now like winning the NFCC and SB. I really don't think interviews should be allowed to start until the playoffs are done so not as to distract some of these coaches getting ready for the big game.

This was all put in place for the guys who are in the playoffs who miss out on jobs because they have to wait to interview. It is supposed to help them not hurt them.

Our interview happened well before they were in the NFCC.

The interview is the most important part in getting the job. He likely didn't impress in that meeting. Doesn't matter what you have on your resume if you don't impress the boss he's going to find the candidate who did.

 

Also you guys making Steichen the favorite just because he has the #1 offense. Look at his roster the dude better not fail with that talent he has.

I've been in interviews where the person doing the interview had no idea how to conduct an interview or what the job they were hiring me to do really was. Interviews are 2 way streets.

When I was hiring for lab projects years ago I couldnt find the right guys because they were a bunch of chemistry nerds who were anti social.  My boss at the time just said "look at their body of work and go from there".   I get being a nfl coach is way different then being a chemist but if they have had success lean on that and go from there

But guys like steichen have no success at the job they are interviewing for. It is all speculation on how they will do in a new job based on how they did their present job. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of overlap so how you did as a coordinator has little bearing in how you will be as a head coach. So your post holds no water....

We can all agree, last time Dave Tepper tried to choose a head coach was a complete disaster.  I am happy to see that he has been more deliberate in his efforts this time around (and that Marty Hurney is no longer involved). 

My assumption (and it is admittedly an assumption) of how the interview process has gone so far is based on my impressions of the remaining candidates, which I find less than encouraging.  However, for someone to conclude the opposite, that Dave Tepper is doing a great job in the interview process, is no less of a huge assumption. 

Chances are, none of us will know if Dave got it right for at least another year or two.

It brings in a lot of room for questions. Unfortunately we have to wait and hear what went on in the process but the candidates left standing are all weak ones IMO.

I don't think anyone knows if Tepper is doing a good job or not in interviewing but he is taking a more deliberate approach and apparently involving more people. But to assume he is screwing up because he didn't pick your favorite is way over the top. And FWIW Moore is not my first or second choice. But given I have no clue into the process, I am not throwing stone like many of you are with no more understanding than I have.
