Feel bad for him but the timing, if anything, is the silver lining. We have several weeks before the trade deadline to figure out a big move and we have 10+ million in cap space.

I’m mean it sucks but how many wins did he really help us with?  He wasn’t around for the the big wins steaks.  Let’s keep our core strong and go sign a key piece.

Maybe it’s not how you run a business but I can’t help but feel for the guy. Who knows if he’ll ever play again but if he does; I’d like to see Carolina offer Max a team friendly deal in the offseason for one year so that Max can call it quits on his own terms.

You don't rush back from an Achilles tear, and really unless you are very young it's never quit as strong as it was.

I didn't want to rush Patches back because of it and was shocked he was already skating as early as he was.  I feel terrible for him and the team.

I hope he's able to continue his career if he wants to, but man this is a gut punch.
