Geez, people! Shefter is now part of ESPussyN and no where as connected as he was while at NFLN cause no one wants to talk to him. Sounds more like a "my friend's friend that I don't know has a fifth cousin who heard while delivering lunch to the beauty salon ..."

I've never understood the staunch opposition to a 3-4 on this board. People act like you just spit in their mom's face whenever some one suggests it.

Many of us still are regretting the awful 1998 season. We got gashed.

Not sure how Cowher football is boring. His defenses were usually fun to watch. Attacking, swarming...

I could care less about airing it out on offense.

Those weren't Cowher's defenses...those were/and still are Dick Lebeau's defenses.

Cowher knew how to get out of the way of good coordinators.

I would assume Beason would struggle with the transition, along with Davis if he were moved inside. Both are simply too small to play the position and will quickly get engulfed by the OL.

In addition do not assume Pep and Brown will make an effortless transition. Brown slide in the draft as people could not see him being able to make the transition. Pep has rushed from those kind of positions before and had mixed results, he is almost too big to play it...Think Kampman for the chances of success.

Considering Brayton's contract is up this season (I think), Peps too, we may have a severe lack of big bodies on our DL. Kemo may or may not be back, leaving us with a couple of DTs who are specifically suited for the 4-3.

Changing to the 3-4, whilst might be worth it in the long run, which efectively say goodbye to our competitiveness for 2 years at least. Most teams that make the switch have a few key components already, we just have Kemo, who may not be back.

The simple truth is that our defense has been tailored to play the 4-3 cover 2 scheme. Not many of our plays would excel in other schemes.

And who is GRWatcher to say who will or who won't talk to Adam Schefter? Who is GRWatcher to say how well or badly connected Adam Schefter is to his personal connections?

Of course most people don't consider the fact that Lebeau was Cowher's Defensive Coordinator for 5 of Cowher's 15 years in Steel town.

That being said I wish Fox would get the hell out of the way.

Cowher's had lots of good coordinators, his last O Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt is currently kicking ass as the HC in Arizona.

Let Peppers go and say good riddance.

kemo and Hollis can handle the NT

we have several to work at DE--Lewis, Hayden, Tyler, Johnson. Will need one in the draft. Brayton will have no place to go.

LB's - might need to trade Davis, Beason and Conner can handle the middle

E Brown on the outside with a FA or rookie on the other side.

We will also have to trade S Smith to pick up draft picks. Need a qb, 2 wr, and revamp the whole D.

with Peppers gone, Muhammed gone and Smiths salary gone, we should have a good amount of FA money. Draft picks are the main thing as this is a good year to get a QB.

Could get a good one in the second. Our first round pick for Smith should go to the other 3-4 OLB

You're exactly right! I don't know, which proved my point even further. We just have to lay down our doubts and put our faith into the hands of the football Jesus that is Schefter.

I will NOT get ready for "boring Cowher football" next year. I'll get ready for a real chance at a clean break. This is a perfect team for Cowher football. We have a lot of the elements already in place, he just has to find a way to get more out of our offense.

I'd be excited about Cowher in Charlotte. Not delusional, but excited.

Just saw it on ESPN. He states with Fox on the bubble, that Cowher is the likely replacement. With a new Team President from Wofford, Cowher daughter is a freshmen at Wofford and the fact that Richardson is a huge booster for Wofford.

Get ready Panther fans for boring Cowher football next year

So in other word ???
