Adam Shefter just reported that all roads point to Cowher here next year

Sometimes i dont think people know what the word speculation means..but anywhoo..here is what Shefter said

Those that know former Pittsburgh coach Bill Cowher say he now is gearing up to return to the NFL next season. Cowher is mentally preparing himself to return to coaching and contemplating how he would structure his organization, according to those that know him. With a return on the horizon, many around the league believe the most logical landing spot, by far, is the Carolina Panthers, where speculation is mounting that Panthers coach John Fox is on the endangered list. Of course, Fox has been there before and always has done what he could to keep his job. But this time, the Panthers have a newly hired president, Danny Morrison, who has no ties or connections to anyone in the organization other than Jerry Richardson. A source connected to the Panthers source said he expects the team to pursue Cowher, who lives in North Carolina and has been waiting for the ideal opportunity to return to coaching. Plus, consider these notable coincidences: Cowher has a daughter who is a freshman at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., where the Panthers hold training camp. Morrison also graduated from Wofford, where he later became the director of athletics and the school's senior vice president. Cowher continues to be on Carolina's radar, and the signs as of late only reinforce the notion.

you lose the NT..your 3-4 is screwed..thats one player

plus our LB are undersized

They are not undersized if you move Pep to that position. Beason has good size, as does Davis. Besides, speed is almost more important in the 3-4, since the pressure is coming from several yards off the line.

our LB are very undersized for the 3-4

Steelers LB under Cowher during Super Bowl victory

Joey Porter - 6'3 250

james Farrior - 6'2 243

Larry Foote - 6'0 239

James Harrison - 6'0 242

Panthers presumed LB's in 3-4

Jon Beason - 6'0 237

Thomas Davis - 6'0 240

Julius Peppers - 6'7 283

Na'il Diggs - 6'4 240

or

Dan Connor - 6'2 231

not much difference there at all...and we have more speed with equitable size.

Posted above about the steelers LB's being around the same size as our linebackers.

You forgot Woodley, Starter at OLB who's 6-2 265.

You have Dallas as well, 6-3 256 OLB, 6-2 247 ILB, 6-2 242 ILB, 6-4 262 OLB.

Dallas' LB corps seems a little bigger, and see where that gets them. They are soft on the pass, because they lack speed. But nonetheless, there is not much of a different in size. I think our LB corp would do just fine in a 3-4.

Listen Homeboy, what I wrote was what AS said on the show. All roads point to Cowher as we know, it is speculation. Keep paying for that espn insider BS. You can usually get most of that stuff free on other sites.

If you're comment about some people don't know the word speculation is not directed to me, then disregard my statement :)

We lack a nose tackle. Without it the 3-4 is nothing. Hollis Thomas can't do Nose Tackle at his age. Tank Tyler was traded precisely because he's not one. Lewis can't do poo either way imo. Kemo won't be able to play it after his injury, i doubt he'd be any good at it anyway considering Ray Lewis was hampered by his play. If we switch to a 3-4, we'd have to draft a DT next year.. and guess what? That means we're going to change our defensive system that is proven and has worked and force ourselves to use a draft pick on it(the switch) instead of an actual position of need.
