Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now

We dodged the whole Deshaun Watson circus and now we are trying to trade for an old coach that was over bounty gate and coached our rivals.  Signing Payton is bad enough, giving away a future 1st to do so is just pathetic.  We have some weird obsession with rethreads....

This is the 5th post ive seen talking about his age. Why does his age matter? He is a HC not a player...

My precise reaction toward any and all Panthers fans who are excited about the potential of hiring Sean Payton.

I don’t care about Payton, I would take him over a few candidates but this Ben Johnson kool-aid is ridiculous. It’s worse than the Wilks kool-aid.

I'm not driving the Johnson train by any means. Honestly, Steichen would be my preference. The one thing I know for damn sure is I do not want Sean Payton. I'll never root for a team coached by the guy who oversaw Bountygate. That's just a red line for me.

This is taking an ugly turn I didn't see coming.

Just thinking what the Panthers would have to give up to obtain Sean Payton makes me have heart burns.

The Panthers need a QB that can help them have balance and build for the future, lots more than getting Payton by giving up needed draft choices.

Here’s the deal. Payton is going to coach another 5 years max.

If he comes here, he is going to bet the future on a championship.

All or nothing. Just the way Tepper likes it.

Already down a 1st rounder

Like I said before, this offseason could potentially bury us for a good while. Fitterer talked way too much about future cap space. Scott needs to win or he’s gone so I’m assuming he’ll blow through a good chunk of future cap space this offseason.

If we have a bad offseason (draft/FA), Sean will pack up and leave like he did in NO.

Leaving us completely f*cked.

Because at some point people want to retire.  I just feel like he is at a point at his career where there is nothing left to prove.  He could walk away in 2-3 years and go back to broadcasting with no issues.  I mean he walked away from NO after their cap was jacked up and Brees retired.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
