Only one playoff team in the NFC had/has a 1st round draft choice at QB.

Take a look at this:

1) Eagles (Jalen Hurts, 2nd round)

2) 49ers (Jimmy G (3rd), Brock Purdy, (6th round and Mr. Irrelevan) combined to win 10 games in a row, and todays' playoff win)

3) Vikings (Kurt Cousins, 4th round)

4) Bucs (Tom Brady, 6th round)

5) Cowboys (Dak Prescott ,4th round)

6) Giants (Daniel Jones, 1st round)

7) Seahawks (Gino Smith, 2nd round)

If you could pick any of those guys based on their 2022 season,  who would be the last QB on your list most wanted list?

More than likely Daniel Jones, the only QB taken in the 1st round. I don't say that to disrespect Jones. Under Daboll he's actually showing signs of becoming a solid starter in the NFL. What this does show is that a QB taken in the 1st round isn't  guaranteed to outperform a QB taken later in the draft. You don't have to reach for a questionable QB in the top 5/top 10.  Players taken later in the draft can provide  competent QB play if the team is well constructed and well coached.

We had two QB's on our roster that were drafted in the top 5 of the 2018 draft to begin the 2022 season and we see how that turned out.

So what your saying is Sam Howell is gonna win a Super Bowl

Nope.

But, he is just as likely to win a SB  as Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Baker Mayfield, Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, and Justin Fields.

Only two QB's on that list have played in a Super Bowl so far. They have a combined total of one SB win and 1-2 overall record in the big game. Now, I expect that to change in the future, but it may not change this season. When they're playing their A-game, the Eagles, 49ers, and Vikings can beat any of those teams on a neutral field. Heck, if Brady somehow lucked his way to another SB with that medicore Tampa team, he could still light any of those teams up. Tampa just destroyed KC in the SB two years ago.

You only need a QB with average football intelligence, athletic instincts in the pocket, a sigma personality, perseverance, patience, and decisiveness. There are plenty of QBs available who fit this, but they don't tend to overwhelmingly be 1st round combine winners. Offensive coaches are the key. Take Kafka and Tierney away from Daboll's staff and he will be 2nd or 3rd tier as an NFL head coach.

Verdict: majority of playoff teams have a first round QB

Damn that just destroyed this thread. Also which was of those NFC QBs would we trade away first rounds picks to acquire? Maybe Hurts?

AFC is Mahomes, Herbert, Allen, and Burrow without a doubt…  Maybe Jackson or Lawrence. You can make the playoffs with an average QB if your team/staff is strong enough, but an elite QB will keep you playoff relevant consistently, even with missing roster pieces.
