One Reason to be Optimistic this time around in the HC Hiring Cycle

Hurney is gone.

By all accounts he was enamored with Rhule the moment his wife served them meatballs. We no longer have him whispering dumbassery into Tepper's ear. The bad man is gone and now we have Fitty Cent leading the HC search. I don't know if that's better, but it's definitely something different. 

Hopefully they make the right choice this time.

Matt Rhule has the 9th worst Win % in NFL History (.289) so statistically speaking, he can't do much worse this time around.

Also notable: With Harbaugh likely out of consideration, there are no overhyped college guys cluttering up the cycle.  Heavy with young, offensive minds and a few really promising DCs like Ryans and Evero.

Just to play devil's advocate here . . . yes, Hurney is gone . . . but now we have Nicole Tepper involved.  You really cannot make this crap up.

Did Nicole Tepper draft Everett Brown in the second by trading a future first?

She is already more qualified.

This is the first time in our history we're building a staff without Bill Polian or Marty Hurney's advice. Pretty refreshing. I know people are down about Tepper's first hire, but let's see what Fitt and him can drum up this time around.  I'm hopeful.
