I'd say 4 players would do it. One player in each postional group. It's not like we are a void of talent. Just need some performing veterans in there.

In no order

1-2 corner

1 mlb

2 olb

1 edge

1 safety

Now I guess there is talk they can move chinn up for a hybridish lb role so then we would need more safety help.  And you can certainly argue that we need more dtackle help but IMO its not that imperative yet.

A couple of questions:

Why 2 corners?
Why 2 OLBs?
Is it 1 edge and still 2 OLBs?

I dont trust DJ and henderson sucks and he might be cut.  Also there is the fact that Horn, freak injuries or not, hasnt played close to a full season yet

Shaq is probably gone after this year and we need another depth piece as well

1 edge to either play with burns or rotate in.  We just need more depth overall on the line

but like I said the new staff may change chinns position, he didnt have a great year

I trust DJ coming back from the injury. I am concerned about CJ and Keith though. As for Shaq, I think he returns on a heavily discounted contract.  I agree with edge and I think we need a ball hawking safety.

This is the way I see it:

Horn, CB2, DJ
ILB, Luvu, B. Smith, Shaq
Burns, Edge, YGM, Barno
Safety, Woods (maybe FA)

Chinn somewhere in there. So 4 total players and I do expect a mix of FAs plus draft prospects.  I wouldnt spend capital on another corner bc im afraid of a Horn injury. Too soon for that.

    • The Hurney trade up denial clearly being a mistake in hindsight, likely influenced the big trade up in 2023. That's so Panthers.
    • You are taking it out of context. I was going there because my first post wasn't negative enough. But you are right I'm not happy Panther football wise (why would I be?). Though, I am looking forward to seeing how he does. Because he could do my first estimate or my second.  If you take the receptions based on bad Bryce all the throws to him will be behind the LOS, and well defended. Meanwhile they are smothering our run game so nothing great there.
    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
