Did Wilks really want Josh Allen when he was with AZ...if so I'm excited to see who he picks as his QB.

Hey didn't that job open back up today...AZ HC job...funny how the guy who replace him is walking out the door and Wilks may be heading into the door of his dreams...

And the Rivera and Fox comparison comes with a Super bowl reference...

Hope he gets the job, and wins us a Superbowl...

Can you imagine the movie starting Denzel....

Sweet Home Carolina...

Frank Reich is not the guy either

I’m old. Old enough to remember him as a student at the University of Maryland

he  is neither innovative or passionate

nice man  good student but a pro football team requires more than that

Fear the turtle!

but he went 6-6 and didn't beat a team with a winning record. We do not know he would work out. Go out and get a offensive minded coach and draft a QB. Enough mediocrity (if we are calling it that).

not disagreeing but Wilks did beat a team with a winning record. Lions finished 9-8. Ive noticed that being said alot on the message board. He did beat the Lions, they do have a winning record. Cant take that from him.

And he beat Seattle. And he beat Tampa the first time

Tampa was injured for most of the season. Not know however

I was fully on his court until he stuck his head in the sand twice at Tampa. Either you believe in the physicality of your team that you preach or you don’t

your team had a chance to go somewhere instead of no where. You have to take those chances.  You have to. That’s what winners do

too with your staring two corners put, you don’t give Brady another chance to score. You go for it

Not said was his KEY Scramble(Run, actually) for a first down 2 plays before that which set that key play up.    Had that not happened, we would've been tortured with Overtime.

And 4-2 overall, if you look at it from a BACKUP QB perspective (since we know that's where Sam's future now lies), it's not too shabby.     Definitely need a Franchise QB, though.

This stood out to me, and the fact Darnold was running for his life right after the snap 1/3 of the plays because of abysmal interior line play.

I tend to agree with a lot of what Fowler had to say. What wasn't mentioned is how the defense dropped off under his control. I hope that area is discussed in that interview also.

I hope all these candidates are grilled endlessly on their ideas for the offense AND defense.  I would prefer not to focus only on the qb they want.  I also would grill them on how they plan on making all that happen.

But that's just me.

I don’t know if it would have made a difference on defense, but if I remember correctly he let a couple of coaches go on the defensive side and did not replace them.

"We know already that Wilks would work out. The players respect him and generally want him to return. He grew up in Charlotte and is deeply rooted in the Queen City. He needs to find a new offensive coordinator and, even more importantly, a quarterback (along with a tight end, safety, nickel corner and wide receiver)."

Honestly, who cares where he is from? He was a very solid interim, but he went 6-6 and didn't beat a team with a winning record. We do not know he would work out. Go out and get a offensive minded coach and draft a QB. Enough mediocrity (if we are calling it that).

He beat Detroit and Seattle, both with winning records.

That is probably the stupidest sentence I have ever read. I hate you for making me read it. May god have mercy on your soul.

Well, it looked like a needed to dumb things down a bit for you. Must have slipped a notch or two on the dial. Glad to have given you something to gnaw on for a bit.

What are we even arguing about again? I haven't cared enough to keep up with it.

Fowler just likes to stir the pot so people read/click his "opinion" pieces.  He likes to state his opinion as fact.

"We know already that Wilks would work out."

No, what we know is players will play hard for him and they like him. You don't win playoff games by playing tough. You win with game planning and season long preparation.  We don't at all if that would "work out".  His record as a head coach is 9-19.  The one "playoff" game he had was a total dud (but expected).

Im not saying I won't be OK if we hire Wilks....but we don't know it will work out.  We know he went 6-6, albeit handicapped a bit, with a completely down division (and NFC in general). If we would have played the NFC east instead of the west this year, we would have had a much different record.

That is all that this place is too you know. Opinions stated as fact.

Never been a Fowler fan fwiw.
