AP: Panthers DTs might sit with injuries

If Kemo can play and it looks like he should be able we should be okay. Walker will start for Lewis and frankly Walker was a starter for Philly for years. We might not have as many backups so it is important for the defense to get off the field. Need to keep the guys rested.

Walker makes more sense as a sub for Lewis than Kemo technique-wise.

Pierre Thomas isn't 100% either, so their best runner and our best run-stuffer each have issues.

At least Beason isn't sick this week.

We really don't have anyone who technique wise comes close to Kemo. He routinely takes up double teams so the Walkers and Lewises can shoot the gap and attack the offense. Without him the offense has an advantage and can send a blocker directly at Beason who hasn't shown he can shed blocks and still make the tackle. I wouldn't be surprised if we start out in a four man line but go to a fifth man on the line if Kemo doesn't play and they have success running the ball. If they come out passing it probably doesn't matter as much and we can use our third down package and go to a nickel especially if Kemo can't go.

I sure hope he does. Winning this game and having 2 weeks to rest his ankle and get Lewis back will be huge.

I think we discussed at the start of the season that we had no other 'nose guard' types. Speculation was it might be Ian Scott, but he didn't even stick.
