Should have kept Rhule

What about all the articles that come out that reference FO personnel, coaches, and players that have stated examples of franchises not playing to win for draft picks including the recent Dolphin scenario? I assume you’re saying they’re liars?

All of them? Predominantly as in most teams do not play to lose. Outliers exist and there will always be a "what about this" and "what about that" but most teams do not play to lose. If your job is on the line and you are on the field playing, are you going to play to lose to help your teams draft position knowing you may find yourself cut at seasons end?

If we’d kept Rhule to “get the #1 pick,” we would now be having to bring somebody in to basically tear the entire thing apart.  Rhule would have everybody scratching their heads about whether 70% of the roster was worth keeping, because we would not have seen them in their natural positions, if at all.  The exception would be those from Temple or Baylor.

Add that the likelihood we would have outsucked Houston, Chicago, Denver, probably Arizona, and maybe Indy is pretty low.  It is pretty much impossible to purposely lose as often as teams that naturally lose.

Remember, the year the Dolphins tried to tank for the #1 pick, they wound up picking fifth.

He definitely wouldn't have traded McCaffrey.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
