Big time players show up in big time games

When has anyone gotten consistent pressure on Brady that significantly impacted his performance.  It doesn't happen often.  Even SF didn't get a lot of pressure on him.  Cleveland has a better dline than we do, and yet we both had the same number of sacks against Brady.

Our dline play wasn't terrible.  We shut down the run game, and did get some sacks on Brady.  But our secondary was horrible, end of discussion.

If he's so poo why are teams offering those picks?

Because LA was trying to win it all again before the door slams shut. It was a gamble to pair Donald and Burns with Stafford hurt. Teams trying to win Super Bowls make deals like this. That's not us.

We can keep Burns and pay 25-30m per for 5 years or

Trade him for a high 2nd, and looking like 2 high future firsts, plus use that 30m in cap space to bring in an edge rusher, LB and whatever else.

Anytime you can give up a Pro Bowl DE for another Yetur Gross-Matos, you do it in a heartbeat

Bosa just showed how big of a gap there is between him and Burns. Game on the line, drives the OT back into the QB. Interception. Game. 49ers win. Burns isn't doing that or anything close.

If this case, you should

John Madden. ‘Big time players make big plays in big games’

who di yhe panthers have after 2 years of drafts by Rhule and Fitterer

reminder. Moore. Burns. CMC are from the previous regime

    • If I’m putting myself in a team’s shoes - you’re looking at these prospects and Warren hits most boxes for a TE with a plus on most. So yeah, he’s a great prospect, no doubt, 1st round talent as a TE. But when I look at him through the lens of that PSU offense, they were running so much through him, I’m not so sure it was beneficial to seeing how he translates.  They were getting him open in the flat, running weird trick plays, and designed a lot of ways to find him on delayed seam routes and such. So a lot was structured around getting him the ball in creative ways to advance the ball, in steady sequences, methodically down the field.  Thing is, yeah he’s catching a ton, is big, and can block, but throw him into an NFL offense in a more traditional sense, he’s gonna be stickied by speedy LBs and big nickels. I just wonder how he is in a more isolated fashion— when he’s just a piece of a greater NFL offense getting shadowed by more talented defenders. I think it could still be great but I have question marks when it’s at the TE position. Will he look no different than other very solid TEs or is he this offensive centerpiece at the position that doesn’t come along often (Bowers, Gronk, Kelce, Witten, TG, etc)? I think he brings a ton and could be one of the safer TE prospects, but what I’m unsure about is if you’re really getting this new age Witten type people are crowning him as. Even if that’s the case, is that worth it? If he wasn’t in PSU’s Franklin/Allar offense, would you be seeing the same output?  More questions than anything - I could get on board with it, but it’s hard for me to really project because of how that offense was (which was so frustrating at times).
    • Twitter sources, but supposedly the Rams want him. He might actually go Round 1.
    • You aren't going to ever get him out of the equation. As he has stated previously, he believes it his right to make the final call on decisions.
