What's your offer to Chicago?

Offer nothing and draft a QB where we find ourselves drafting in order. Save those draft picks. Stroud and Young are not guaranteed no more than anyone else is.

You know, the best QB to come out of last year's draft may be Mr. Irrelevant. You never know.

I feel like a broken record: but it depends on who is the coach next year.  How in love are they with a player?  Can they make this player alter the franchise?

After SF gave up the farm for Tray Lance, teams are going to expect similar compensation.  If Chicago doesn't get the haul they want, they can still pick a franchise altering player and not look back.

Chicago will take Carter or Anderson if they can’t trade back.

wait, wut?

You’ve seen the blueprint since Cam broke down right? Mortgaging you’re draft capital when you have holes everywhere is a biggest of gambles. How many times have we seen this franchise win meaningless games pushing us out of range for a QB? I wasn’t a fan of Fields but Fields made more sense than a CB...when we had no QB.

How drunk are you right now?

Nothing. First off Im guessing Chicago keeps the QB they draft and move Fields. Carolina has to learn their lesson. Commit to sucking for draft position or learn to live with cast off reject QBs.

Chicago is not trading Justin Fields. They are not drafting a QB.

I get the feeling you love being contrarian for the fun of it haha

Not contrarian. It's well known a vast majority of 1st round QBs do not turn out to be worth a 1st round pick. The data proves that is the majority opinion. I am just pointing out why they are not worth a 1st round pick if the goal is to build a championship team with draft capital.

Most of you are too hopeful as if you are purchasing a lottery ticket with a 1st round QB (especially a top 15 pick).

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
