He used to be someone I would have been satisfied with picking up for next season instead of drafting QB. However, he has really stunk it up this season, with elite talent on offense.

As of right now they’re right behind us.

But you can easily make a case that every team in front of us could go QB. I assume AZ won’t because of Kyler’s contract and Chicago has fields. Other than that everyone else needs a QB

Well if they keep winning we’re going to go this route again

After seeing what’s happened to the teams who gave up 1st rounders in this years draft I think teams will be very reluctant to do that this year 

If we end up winning the division or even 1/2 of our remaining games it’ll be a steep price to pay to move up in the draft. So they’ll pivot to trading for someone again

If we win the division, it means Sam played well through some tough moments. In that case, we may not be looking for a top-10 QB. This does not mean we will not take one with our 1st, wherever that falls, or a 2nd.

i like him.

i don't want to go into next season with him as the attempted answer at QB, though.

 we could and have done worse, but still...i just don't want to go the vet route again. draft one and throw him in there.
