Offseason Countdown

Does anyone else besides me know about Terrell Hudgins? He had an AMAZING four-year career at Elon as a Wide Receiver. He put up AMAZING stats. Hudgins accumilated 394 Receptions for 5,220 Yards, and 51 Touchdowns. Hudgins is projected to go in the 7th round of the NFL Draft this year, and I would love to have him as a Carolina Panther.

Here are some links to his story and stats.

The guys coming off IR I only see Tyler and Leonard making the team. Maybe Kemo if he restructures. They IRd Irvin IMO because he wasn't doing anything and it was kind of a redshirt year. I saw nothing out of the guy that give me any faith he can be the future at UT like our FO thought (IMO this was the worst pick in our Draft). But this is the team that still employs Nick Hayden so I think they suck at evaluating talent at DT.

If Brian Price comes out and is there in the 2nd, to this team he is the BPA IMHO. He has all the makings of a top flight UT. But as I said he will most likely be a late 1st which I would understand not trading up due to our picks shortage.

I saw some signs of good pass rush from Irvin..but if fox is not here he could get caught in the numbers game.

I know we all are very impressed with Moore so far this season. But to go into next season without still trying to upgrade the QB positon, if nothing else for depth, is foolish and shortsighted (so most likely from Fox we can expect him to sit on his heels). But Moore's success actually plays right into my dream scenario and the Fox/Hurneys FO tendencies. As the need for QB has diminished I think now more then ever they will not pick a QB with the 1st pick.

I see two different likely picks in the 2nd. Brian Price DT or Golden Tate. Tate reminds me so much of Steve Smith. He has 74 receptions (about 7.4 catches per game), 1,172 yards (117.2 per game) and 11 receiving TD's (1.1 per game). He shows the ability to get good separation against even the best defenses, his stats against the Trojans: 8 catches, 117 yards, 2 TD's. Like Smith he can make those circus catches that we all love. He has very good hands and is very good at YAC.

He is a converted RB and is very tough to bring down especially by CB's. He was actually a RB for all of high school, and had never played WR until he got to ND.

He has progressed from not being able to run anything but the simplest routes when he got to ND. To now he can get open on almost any thing he runs. He also brings the added dimension in the Wildcat. As an ex-RB, he understands how to run the ball through an offensive line and use blockers, and he has the fearlessness and power of a RB.

Then we can get Skelton in the 3rd. Look at these stats.

These are his completion % totals by season:

2006: 44.3% (only played 1/3rd the season)

2007: 56.4%

2008: 61.3%

2009: 64.4%.

His QB Rating by year:

2006: 94.88

2007: 127.73

2008: 129.66

2009: 150.05

His TD/INT Ratio

2006: .75 (6/8)

2007: 2 (22/11)

2008: 2.14 (15/7)

2009: 2.6 (26/10)

That shows me marked improvement in each of his 4 years at Fordham. You combine that with his 6'5" 258 size, huge arm, and athleticism you have yourself a super sleeper.
