Sam admits that having the run game and not being asked to play "hero" ball is very much preferable.

 

This pretty much puts to bed any notion of him being a Franchise QB but he seems to be developing into one hell of a Backup QB (or maybe even a Bridge QB, which would be ideal for us, should he accept a role like that after this season).
