Jesus Christ.

Wilks has stated plain as day that the strength of this team is the offensive line. You do not say that if you have a good qb. The only thing wilks says about Sam is that it’s good he’s not turning the ball over. That is literally what you ask of your backup qb. You cannot ask too much of him or he falls apart. Sam looks like he would be a great fit for a backup spot starter role and I think he would excel in the right situation in that role.

Is Sam way better than last year?

Most would say yes.

So if he improves again by this margin next year he's top 12.

Do it one more time and he's top 8.

In 2 years we have a top 8 qb.

Richardson will never be able to make that throw Sam made to DJ on the sideline. Sam has more arm talent.

Are you retarded?

Drafting a bust QB doesn't set you back. It's the refusing to move on from a bust QB that sets you back. If he busts, move on.

You see, you're  spouting general NFL knowledge and ignoring our situation.

We have a chance at the playoffs because our Division is weak. Its looking like it might remain a little weak.  We have a chance of maintaining a future of winning the division. We are winning by having a strong run game, and a strong defense. We will still need a passing game, and right now under Darnold with the contributions of D.J., TMJ, Viska and even Shi a bit, it functions. The reason it is what is now is not just because of any one player. Would the passing game open up more with a more trust worthy QB than Darnold? Sure! But it's not easy to find that and the options presented to us are much worse, hampering our immediate chances of winning if they bust.  a pick that could've been used to bolster our strengths.

Darnold is a bit more unique than most 2nd contract QBs like Alex Smith, Ryan Tannehill Marcus Mariota, etc for a variety of reasons that, while unlikely to happen at a consistent rate you CAN see a way he elevates the team when needed for the immediate future. Will he ever be elite? Unlikely but you can elevate his play more clearly than you could any of the QBs listed above, while living with his weaknesses. And at the very least you CAN win with that. And if you don't? Then reevaluate the next season.

The difference with the above is you're still building a system a QB can succeed in. if we draft a bust QB yeah we can move on, but that's not only a pick that could've been used on building on what we have in a time where a window is open in the NFCS, but it's a year of contract time and age to the players we do have and risks their chance of success in our system going down. This sets the Panthers back.

The strength of every team should be the lines.

Who have the Steelers strived to keep around? Recievers? Backs? Nope.

Darnold is playing well enough that whatever QB we take in the 1st round won't feel pressured to have to come in and start from day 1.

At this rate we won’t be drafting stroud or bryce and I’d rather run it back with Darnold next season. Get some pieces around him and maybe he can turn into our Jimmy G.

We are not winning poo consistently with a system qb.  You need a damn flame thrower to win in the playoffs.   And building your team to win a shitty division is short sighted and moronic.

Winning a putrid division shouldn't be the goal. The next NFC South team to figure out the QB position is setup to dominate until the rest of the division does the same. I want to be that team.

In a perfect world yes. They also don’t have a qb. You’re simping for Darnold while shitting on qbs like Lamar. Who won a fuging mvp. It’s very transparent.

    • That sucks man. Been there with the destruction back when Hugo hit and totaled the house and many others I don't think we had power for week at least.  This has to be the most massive damage, geographically spread over states and just where you are there is more than enough. But it's everywhere. The people in Florida are massively fuged too, I mean on your level and worse. And that was forecast well in advance of landfall. Not sure about where you are, if they were mobilized for that. They almost certainly had crews from all over lined up to go to Florida, but likely weren't ready for what happened up there. Probably going to have to deal with it as best you can for a couple of days maybe. And the bridges being out the roads being washed away, it isn't just clearing fallen trees to make their way to you. Much bigger challenge.  Good luck , hang in there.
