Is Mcadoo developing Darnold??

No. He's running an offense that basically heavily de-emphasizes the QB position. 43 runs vs. 22 passes. Darnold has thrown less than 25 pass attempts in each of his starts in the post-Rhule era. He's doing a good job managing the game with what he's asked to do but the game plan revolves around asking him to do little.

Yes I think the offense is simple but isn’t that the way you develop a QB with little success?? Instead of going full blown air Sean Payton and running a marathon playbook with sophisticated passing schemes.. Let’s also give credence to Mcadoo doing this with no CMC crutch, no Robbie and a new Oline just built this year..

Probably his best game as a pro, or at least since his rookie year. He looked very different this game, both taking good scrambles but also finding deep targets. It is possible McAdoo is developing him, but he's ALWAYS been streaky.  Even compared to his good games last year, he was much better this game, but remember that didn't last last year either.  he'll need to be able to do this when our rushing game doesn't spot him 7.

The word that comes to my mind is he looks comfortable.  He never looked comfortable playing last season. Always seemed to be on the edge of disaster.  It’s still a very small sample size but he is a better player than he was previously.

Not saying he is the answer and not saying he is a franchise QB. Just saying he seems to have improved quite a bit.

It just seem like with each game he either increases Darnold s workload or decreases it depending on how Sam is doing in that game.. Which it seems like Sam is thriving..

It's just too small of a sample size and with the Panthers run game it's going to difficult to judge off of the last two games.

Sam isn't play worse under current coaching, that's for sure.

So...he's developing?  Weird t'start that off with no.

i'm not saying Sam is gonna hit some elite ceiling but...he's making the right reads. He was doing it last week when we weren't running as well. In both wins and losses he's shown growth. That's development.

Mcadoo can be both a bad OC but good long term for Sam.

I’m starting to think in general Mcadoo knows how to work with QB’s giving time.. The OC ting is still a question..

I’m just loving this team right now overall. We’re a legit threat to anybody at the moment. We absolutely destroyed the soul of a team who was 6-1 in their last 7 today. Yeah Pitt fuged us up but damn. Today was incredibly impressive. Hats off to the entire team. They played their best game in 5 years today when it really counted. Wilks for coach next year.

He's a 5th year QB who still requires training wheels to make an offense work. If you want to call that developing, go for it. I mean, I guess it is. He's developing into a career backup. Because this is how you want a backup QB to operate.

Excuse me. That was maybe the best offensive game in the history of the Panthers. Most rushing yards, most total yards, and straight domination. We rushed for 320 and Darnold still threw for 250+, with a clean sheet. I mean…dayum.

Dude. Wtf? Can you not appreciate the all time ass whooping we put on the Lions today? Sam played great. What more do you want?

It looks to me like Sam may be gaining a little confidence. His fundamentals are as sound as I think I've ever seen him display.  But as long as the run game is working they can afford to be a little conservative. That defense is going to need to tighten up though. They played better but not playoff football better. But I'm still enjoying watching this new look Panthers.
