If S.D is the backup, who the hell starts?

So if he is the backup, who is left? M.C can't be the starter. P.J isn't better then Sam at this point.

So what happens. Sign some vet on his last leg? Wait until the next HC comes in or is Wilks and Fitts the guys to pick the QB?

Either way they need a plan to move foward. Isn't much coming in FA as far as quality QB's.

Draft a QB. If we can re-sign Darnold cheaply as a bridge then do that. But the answer is not on the roster and we've been trying to find a bargain vet for years with predictable results.

Nothing is settled. If it's up to me there isn't anything any QB on this roster could do to prevent me from drafting another quarterback.

I am 100% behind keeping Darnold as the long term backup and potential starter to bridge the gap for a rookie QB. They have to draft a QB next year.

Gardner "Foo" Minshew, MC, and then draft a QB in rounds 2 or 3.  Some raw talent in the draft.  My choice?  Houston's Clayton "Name That" Tune with the second, second pick.

Oddly enough, Sam is in the running, he needs to keep up his level of play and I'd say have a really good playoff game, but I wouldnt say its out of the question at this point.

No draft or roster decisions need to be impacted by Matt Corral. He looked completely terrible. If he develops into anything, awesome. If not, oh well. But we have to plan for "if not".

Sam and Corral are our QBs. We're not going to draft one with our first pick. Sam has shown he can win games. It's up to Matt to show he's a better option though. More classic Panthers mediocrity for at least one more season.
