Points In 10 In A Row: Carolina's win last night moves their point streak to 10 games, the eighth streak of 10 games or more in franchise history. It's the third streak of 10 games or more within the last five years. The longest, 13 games, came in 2021.

Four Straight Wins: With a win over Dallas, the Canes now have four in a row dating back to last Saturday on Long Island. The team has allowed a total of just six goals during the run, with four of them coming last night.

500 For Waddell: Saturday's victory was also the 500th as a General Manager for Don Waddell, becoming just the fourth GM to reach the milestone in franchise history. Since May of 2018 he's guided the organization to a record 192-92-34.

Firsts For Turbo & Chatty: Forward Teuvo Teravainen earned his first goal of the season in Saturday's victory, coming during a five-on-three power play. Defenseman Jalen Chatfield picked up his first point of the season with an assist on Andrei Svechnikov's 17th goal of the year.

In Net: After Antti Raanta started and won last night for Carolina, it is expected that Rod Brind'Amour and staff will turn to Pyotr Kochetkov this afternoon. The rookie is 8-1-4 and brought himself into Calder Trophy discussion thanks to having a share of the league lead in shutouts (3) and a top-ten position in save percentage (.923).

Aho, Andersen Ruled Out: Friday afternoon Rod Brind'Amour also confirmed that neither Sebastian Aho nor Frederik Andersen will play this weekend. Both are dealing with lower-body injuries. More info on all of the team's injuries can be found below.

Stastny's Big Role: With Aho out of the lineup, veteran Paul Stastny has stepped into his top line role. Centering Martin Necas and now Andrei Svechnikov, Stastny scored his first goal of the season last Saturday and then followed that with a season-high in minutes played in both of the next two contests.

Road Warriors: Although they will only play one road game the rest of the year (12/22 @ PIT), the Canes win in Detroit on Tuesday gives them at least one point in their last 10 road games. They are 6-0-4 dating back to November 14, now the second-longest streak in franchise history. The current run only trails the streak of points in 12 consecutive road games from 2004.

On The Other Side: Pittsburgh comes to town having won seven games in a row, each one since coming out on the wrong end of an overtime score against the Canes. They've allowed just 17 goals in six games, with goaltender Tristan Jarry recently being named an NHL Star of the Week for his performances. The unit also now has defenseman Kris Letang back in the mix after he missed a week due a stroke that he suffered. Sidney Crosby remains pacing the unit with 40 points in 30 games. Their penalty kill also ranks fourth in the league.

CANES INJURY UPDATES

  • Forward Sebastian Aho has missed the team's three most recent games due to a lower-body injury. Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour said last week that it's an injury that has been bothering him for a bit and that it's more important for him to get healthy than play through something he doesn't have to. Friday he was ruled out for both games this weekend.
  • Forward Ondrej Kase has been in concussion protocol since October 13. He took part in Friday's practice at PNC Arena, but there is no current timetable for his return.
  • Goaltender Frederik Andersen suffered a lower-body injury on November 6. He has been practicing with the team as of late, but Rod Brind'Amour said on Friday that he is not close enough to dress this weekend.
  • Forward Max Pacioretty suffered a torn Achilles tendon in August. He has been skating for over a month now and took part in his first team practice Friday. Don Waddell said earlier this season that he hopes to have Pacioretty available at some point in either January or February.
