Iowa vs Kentucky is also happening now on ABC in the Music City Bowl. Levis is sitting this one out.

I don't blame him but I'm not sold on the least on him. I can't be convinced that spending a high 1st rounder on pure raw talent that will be 24 when he puts on an NFL jersey is a good idea. We aren't talking about a 20 or 21 year old here. We're talking about a guy who will be the age of a typical 2nd or 3rd year NFL player. When you consider that, the shine wears off Levis very quickly IMO.

I wouldn't take Levis in the first round if I was a GM unless it was one of the last 2-3 picks. He just doesn't strike me as an NFL QB.  If the choice was him or Richardson, I hope the Panthers swing for the fences and go Richardson.

Absolutely agreed. Maybe I'm wrong and Levis will be great and he was just held back by an subpar situation at Kentucky. Completely possible.

But yeah, I see a superior physical talent in Richardson who is significantly younger and who was also on a subpar situation at Florida. I don't even think it's close between the two unless interviews determine there's a wide gap that isn't evident from the play on the field.

I'd much rather go with the younger talent even if the rest is equal since you'd have him longer unless injuries derail his career. I've never seen an interview with Richardson, but his teammates seemed to love him and as you've stated before, fans don't get any info from the draft process interviews.

I've seen some interviews. He's no Peyton Manning but he doesn't seem like a moron either.

Vaughn is one tiny dude compared to the other players. He would still make a decent late round pick and part of a RB stable in the NFL.

Curious to see how he translates. Darren Sproles and MJD did just fine. You could consider a guy like Danny Woodhead too.

I do think he has to get up to at least 185 or so.

It would probably be his second NFL season before he added the needed muscle unless he really hits the gym this offseason.

    • Just admit that you don’t follow all the draft discussions on here. If draft results were so random, how come some teams tend to be perennial losers like us and some teams are perennial winners and it all starts with the draft? It’s almost comical these type of stupid responses. Oh, why aren’t you the GM? Gee I wonder since I work in a completely different field. How about you give us some examples of where the huddle consensus drafting was worse than our drafting from 2018 to 2025? I know I’ve given a ton of examples and you just shoot this generic poo of oh you couldn’t possibly done better as an armchair GM. Why don’t you dispute any of my examples? Let’s go to Brooks. I wanted Frazier at C because I still feel like that’s a hole. Other Huddlers mentioned DeJean at CB. Here’s why many of us didn’t want Brooks because 1) he might not play due to tearing his ACL late in the college season, 2) any scout/GM worth their salt would know that the 2025 RB draft class was loaded and 3) trading up multiple picks knowing 1 and 2 seems silly. Heck, after the draft, pretty clear that day 3 was where the RB value was. The huddle was right on Brooks and at most, we’ll get 2 years of Brooks while Hubbard is still under contract. If you know so much about the underlying machinations of the draft, you should be able to dispute the actual examples and how the huddle’s picks were just plain lucky and how Dan, Scott and Marty’s picks were just unlucky. Pulling the why aren’t you an NFL GM is a much repeated response when an actual reasoned response isn’t possible. Our drafting hasn’t been unlucky the past 7 drafts, it’s just been bad with lost of idiotic moves that were far worse than the huddle consensus.

    • 100%!! Last year we focused completely on offense, and it made leaps, especially when Bryce settled in for the 2nd half of the season. We kept all those players and improved our RB stable this free agency! This year we focused almost entirely on D, specifically our run D. I expect it to jump to at least average, which would be awesome considering they are starting at dead frikin last. Our draft class from last year, however, doesn't exactly make me tingle. I know, I know..."traded away our first round pick, give them time to develop", but still. The 1 gem was Coker, a UDFA who I really like, but he ain't exactly Randy Moss. We have to do better! We can't afford to only build via Free agency.
