RIP Coach Silas

Apparently Paul Silas passed away today at the age of 79. My son just texted me and told me. Can’t confirm. Sad if true. Great guy. Loved his Hornets

Damn, that sucks. Was an organizational legend and never gave up on the team, he continually would come to games to support the team well after he had moved on from the game of basketball.

Forever thankful for what he and Stephen did for the organization.

Always loved Coach Silas.  

A Hornets/Bobcats legend. He was a legend here long befote he came back foe the Bobcats, and his legacy was already cemented, but I'll never forget the time he whooped Tyrus Thomas' ass and shoved him in the locker.

I remember a funny story about him.  Shinn fired him, but not in person...think he had the GM do it.  Well Shinn and Paul lived in the same neighborhood, and that night, Paul knocked on Shinn's door.

He refused to answer.  And he was there.

Considering how big Paul Silas was and how small George Shinn was, I cannot say I blame Shinn for avoiding Silas, who was probably pretty upset

  I think it was Paul who told the story....said he just wanted to ask why he got fired.  But I wouldn't have opened the door either

I agree!!! I think that not answering the door might have been a good decision!!!
