Is Fields really the answer in Chicago? He is not a very good passer and has to run a lot to be productive. We are now seeing the toll running qb's like Fields and Lamar Jackson are taking. No way the Ravens give Lamar a fully guaranteed contract he is demanding. That situation could get interesting.

Justin Fields just threw the ball 25 times this past week, completed 20 of them for like 250 yards. He ran the ball 6 times. He was super effective. And yeah, one of those runs still went for a 50 yard touchdown run. And he had two completions over 40 yards throwing to guys like Pettis and St Brown. Fields is looking like the answer in Chicago. The only knock on him now is he isn’t finishing games. But look at the talent on that team.

He.never got any better he was essentially the same guy in 2016 as his first day with us.

Getting better is a player's responsibility on his own. Before and after the TJ Watt hit he was blowing games late with his inability to pass the ball.

You mean you forget like 3 games before the injury he lead us to 21 points in the fourth quarter in a wild comeback against the Eagles? And how he was competing like almost 70% of his passes that year?

Scoring wise we were one of the top offenses in football up until that injury and folks and analysts were talking about Cam being an MVP again.

He never got better? I disagree. As to blowing games late he had 12 4th quarter comebacks in his first five seasons. Rodgers had 5 in his first 5 and has never had more than 10 in a 5 game stretch.... Yet people talk about him being clutch all the time. 🤷

I can't believe a Panthers' fan said Cam never got any better!

That's great but that's unrealistic in this draft and who knows in the next. That you wouldn't want Cam as a QB... 🤷

Cam with a decent offensive coaching staff put up record numbers for a rookie... We held him back.

It's unrealistic in any draft. You're always hoping for an MVP caliber talent but if that's the floor of what you're willing to accept then you're highly likely to be continually disappointed.

The reality is that he'd rather lose games with a Kirk Cousins than win games with a Cam Newton. Some of these old dinosaurs ha e an image of what a QB looks and plays like and they'd rather lose games with that type of QB than win games with a dual threat QB.

I think our big miss in the Rhule era was Justin Fields – He is starting to show all the makings of a franchise guy. With that being said - I think Richardson and Levis are the same kind of gamble, I'm good with either of them.

Justin Fields on this team, albeit without Horn, would be exciting to watch and likely quite competitive on the offensive side of the ball.  But that also assumes Field isn't ruined by Rhule and I'm not sure on that.

You mean how he blew the game 100 percent vs Washington before the injury?

Or the 8 yd pass to DJ after the injury that he sailed over his head vs Detroit.

His passing ability absolutely held us back. Period.

To be fair, he never got many reps in practice. Rhule was too busy with his QB competition and giving PJ most of the leftovers.

They don't want to be fair. They just desperately want themselves to be right and the Panthers(and ripp) to be wrong about Corral.

They have another thing coming.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
