Why are so many picking Heinicke? He played like one end of year game for us.  He's proving to be good NOW, but that doesn't compute with el questione.

It's Allen & Bridgwater.  Bridgewater was a dull manager who was the most risk-averse, non-aggressive QB I've ever seen.  Allen had a hot streak and teased potential before settling into his current iteration.

Depends on how you look at the question.

If I were to ask myself, which of this bunch would I most trust to lead the team right now, the answer would probably be Heinicke.

Truth be told, they all come with qualifiers. For example, if you wanted to look at what quarterback had the best performance, I'd actually say it was Sam Darnold...if you only counted his first four games.

I take the question as who the best for the Carolina Panthers.  Heinicke had 1 TD in a Carolina uniform.  So he doesn't register for me. But I agree, I'd most like to have him on the roster today based on what we have seen overall from the QBs in the NFL.

So Heinicke is #1 on one way of looking at it and at the bottom the other way.

where is all of this love for Teddy coming from? He was ass and never could win games.

I don't think pocking Teddy as the least-worst QB since 2017 Cam is the same as 'love'. I can't stand the guy as a player but while he is a milquetoast AB, the team generally did not look as utterly terrible with him as with others. They still sucked, just maybe not as much.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
