The best football player in the world is a backup QB against UNC. The deeper on the depth chart the better. Clemson's 4th stringer could probably only throw TDs.

Dude. That argument was it was to help Peyton go out on top. Some went as far as to say they didn't want Cam to win due to ... reasons. Some even went farther to say that the NFL hates the Panthers.

There is zero ... zero ... zeeeeero reason the bigwigs would want a Clemson win. They can't make the CFP this year, they are from South Carolina, they don't have a huge following, and they are a fraud with their schedule. No one cares about them.
