The Panthers have been using special teams standout Sam Franklin Jr. more on defense the last two weeks, with Jeremy Chinn playing closer to the line of scrimmage as he did in his rookie year.

I noticed Franklin on the field more, Chinn only had 1 tackle so honestly didn't notice him on the field at all

Franklin is a official bas approved player. Long ago, I called him a lite Thomas davis and the last two games he showed. He can lay thy wood.

He was in the backfield on a few plays only a couple of feet away from sacking Wilson. It appears we are slowly converting him to that role. I bet out of the bye Chinn is our new Joker back.

He brings a head-on-fire ST energy to the D. If you dont get him blocked, he will turn into a missile and make the play. Always been a fan and called for him to start many moons ago..

He looked good today.  Chinn still looked behind at times in coverage.  We need to get him closer to the LOS. I thought that would happen today with Littleton out, but it didn’t that much.  Hopefully soon…

Chinn has been out for weeks.  He's still getting back into things.  However, I've finally settled in on the idea of him being a better LB than safety--at least coverage safety.  A box safety I'm okay with.

I hope that's the case. Franklin can play back in clean up duty. The closer to the ball the better for Chinn, playing zone free safety is a waste of his true talents. Even if he covers a TE I'd still rather it be close to the line/man to man
