Teddy was who he was. Should’ve been a “bridge” to our eventual franchise QB but unfortunately Tepper or Rhule was determined to get rid of him after one season. Instead we ended up on the hook for like $10 million of his contract just to trade him and we ended up on the QB carousel from hell

He wasn't BAD, he just wasn't good. 

 

Say what you want about swinging and missing on Teddy, Darnold and Baker,  a positive about this team is they will not be content on QB's and keep swinging.

If the point is to win games, he was just as bad.  He might put up some numbers but he’s as anti-clutch as they come and his scaredy way of playing hurts the team more than his ability to inch down the field helps it.

Teddy was brought in to not be a hero, but not lose games until we got a replacement, and I think he was good at that job.  But the replacements that were brought in lose games.

If they’d just drafted Fields and kept Bridgewater in 2021 we’d be in quite a different situation

He was terrible at that job. He definitely lost games. Every time the game was close late he crapped the bed.

He wasn’t bad but he was never going to win us a playoff game, which is why he was traded. But he could have been kept if just to mentor a young player until they were ready. We have lost draft capital on the two current QB failures putting us further behind.

Teddy is a guy who you're really happy to have if he's your backup QB on a good backup QB contract. But as a starter? Especially making starter money? Yikes.

The biggest bonus for Mayfield and Darnold is that their contracts are up at the end of this year.
