Wilks is exactly what this team and city need. The local guy who players LOVE playing for. He's not flashy, but real. The building has been different since he took over and we don't look like a team about to roll over for a top pick. He using this season to build a winning culture after 2+ years of IDK what?

Give him a 3 year contract with at least 2 years to see what he can do. The defense is showing it can be a top 10 defense. Let's see what a year of picks and FA signing can do for the offense.

IMO, If we don't, he could be attractive to other teams each week and the price goes up and the length of the deal goes up. #Wilksfan

We needs another Rivera? Hell no. Wilks was a terrible coach in Arizona. He will be a terrible coach here.
Tepper would be an idiot to make him the HC after the season is over.
There is much better more modern coaches out there. I hope Tepper takes a look at them.

Wait so ex panthers players sticking up for his old position coach, never could’ve seen that happen. Calling Steve wilks a terrible head coach is a slap in the face to actual terrible head coaches. Sorry if my standards are higher than having my team fighting.

his resume as a head coach is garbage and shouldn’t even be given an interview.

Here's my thing

How can you possibly make sense of firing Ron Rivera but stick with Wilks full-time?  What's the difference?

Wilks is not turning this franchise around, let's be real.

Of course he's not with the team and staff Rhule built. If he does get something respectable out of this mess he deserves a serious interview for the job. Not just some Rooney rule bullshit interview.

And what has he done to this point to earn that?  We only have 6 games left.  We look just as bad now as we did with Rhule last year.  So again what are people seeing that makes them say hey lets keep Wilks?  It makes no sense to me.

I'm not saying he should be.  I'm looking for someone to take us to multiple SB championships before I'm too old to remember who I am. If Tepper thinks that's Wilks so be it. I'm hoping for the best.

All I'm saying is that this team (except the OC and QB) is playing harder than any group I've seen in years. Theres no quite in these guys dispite the ineptitude of the offense. That shows leadership, leadership that was sorely lacking in the staff before he took over. A staff he didn't assemble by the way. Given the circumstances I think he deserves a chance to make his case for the job. That's all I'm saying.

Wrong, he's the Interim Head Coach, which means that he had no say so over players and coaches/coordinators

So who is Wilks going to bring in? His coaching tree is Rivera. Please enlighten me why he's so better than top NFL coordinators?

A head coach has to lead men and give direction, an identity. An OC is suppose to design an offense and a DC the defense. His DC is doing a damn good job (his choice). Parcells lead the players, Belichick called the defense. They had decent OCs.

How many people would have been successful in this environment? And to trade away your best player, but trade away a cancer on the team too (his choice). He changed the mindset already. The team in most games (except Cinn) were competitive. The team played hard. The team, the organization the city needs some stability. Look at Denver, bring in a top OC to coach and a top QB and where are they? It's not always a proven formula.

I would think everyone wants a Tomlin, consistent winner, in most games, but has only one 1 championship - still good. Players love playing for him.

You said a lot and didn't answer anything my friend. I understand what their roles are. Also our defense is also ranked at the bottom of the league so I wouldn't say thats a damn good job. Yes the offense is worse but it also has less talent than the defense. Moral victories are not what you put on your resume. Wins are and we haven't had but two of those.

Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Dennis Allen and Todd Bowles are all on line 2 for you.

So all Steve Wilks has to do is turn into Bill Parcells and find arguably the greatest defensive mind football has ever seen.  Okey dokey.
