We are the laughing stock of the league rn

I honestly think you're overestimating how revelant the Panthers are.

Casual fans don't even knew how he played here since he wasn't on any national games (PJ started TNF).

Browns fans that still follow him have to be equally embarrassed bc he is still way more associated with them than us.

I think for the most part we are so irrelevant that we can't even be a laughingstock right now. For the most part, no one cares

Maybe that's worse...

The Rams with Baker tonight showed what can happen with a coach who believes in you and coaches who take the time to get to know you as much as possible. I don't think micromanager Rhule ever liked Mayfield, ever really wanted to start him. Thus the summer "quarterback competition". Baker felt that. No matter how good a QB can be, that counts for a lot.

Look at what McVay did for Stafford, made him a Super Bowl champion by believing in him and giving him every chance to succeed. I hope McVay takes the same approach with Mayfield.

It’s more a clowning of our poo coaching staff than a crowning of baker. Just pure coincidence that he looked like he Clausen while he was here and looked like an actual NFL QB after 2 days of joining a new team

Right. Even injured last year he never looked as bad as his Panthers games. He basically looked like 2020 Baker because McVay let him play action and launch a couple in the right situations

I don't think you are right here. I think its clear he liked Baker, and he really did NOT look much better than Darnold in the offense, so its no surprise. Remember, he hadn't had a one on one with Darnold until like mid season last year, so its not like he was in love with him. And he also refused to give Corral many reps, so.  Rhule just fuging sucked, and our offensive staff isn't much better.

Baker has a much better staff around him, simple as that. I don't think this is just the fact his coaches believe in him or some poo - this is actual NFL talent as offensive coaching staff, something we don't really have here.

Baker was always the wrong QB for McAdoo's offense. It is truly baffling how Rhule or Ben had a job this offseason. When a casual fan can see this debacle on the horizon during preseason, it's speaks volumes to what opposing DCs can see every week. God Tepper sucked Rhule meatballs.

Only QB's good for McAdoos offense would be prime Rodgers or Manning. It's totally outdated and he's clearly too smug and stubborn to do anything about it. Only reason anything is working currently is Wilks is forcing a power running game

Damn. McAdoo has to go as soon as the season is over.

No doubt, McVay is one of the greatest coaching minds in the league, but regardless, he illustrated two things tonight:

1) the valley between great coaches like McVay, and poo coaches like Rhule/McAdoo

and

2) the stench that many of us referred to that developed with Rhule and his tenure here. I said countless times, the longer he stayed, the harder it would be to get it off our franchise, our locker room, and our players. Wilks has pulled us in the right direction and has gained some traction, but there is still a long way to go. This locker room was poisoned for 2.5 years to an unimaginable degree... The Rams with Baker tonight showed just how much.

Baker looked like a guy who shouldn't even be in the league while here. I and many others kept saying, in disbelief, that he just never looked this bad at any point before - and he wasn't this bad. His play was literally a product of Rhule and his culture. And again, in typical Panthers fashion, our team continues to perpetually embarrass themselves in historic ways... a guy we demoted to third string because he looked like the worst QB to take a snap in a decade here, we release, he signs with a team, come in on their second possession, and slings it all over the yard like the #1 pick he was drafted to be and ehat many of us thought he COULD be here... and he wins off two days preparation with a new team after we told the league he was done because we didn't know what to do with him.

He couldn't even get passes beyond the LOS here. He couldn't complete passes when he did. He couldn't find receivers, he looked uncomfortable the entire time, and he just couldn't get right. He looked nothing like he did at any average to good point in his career prior to coming here...  in fact, again, he looked DONE.  Completely inept.  Nothing like a guy who was ever taken 255th overall, let alone a guy taken #1. Tonight, he looked like everything we hoped he would here, but our culture rendered him incapable, as it has so many other players.  This is awesome to see for Baker, but damn this is both eye-opening to how bad off we actually are and humiliating.

Yall can say what you want about the Radiers, and no doubt, I think McDaniels is a fuging tool, but they're still an NFL team, and what Baker did tonight is unfathomable with an offense he's never ran, with guys he's never played with, and he looked like what so many of us projected he would be here (with competent coaching).

Again, at the very least, McAdoo has to go.  Seeing Baker playing free illustrated just how badly McAddo hamstrings any and everyone here on the staff (outside of Wilks).

I’m glad for Baker  kudos to him

i watched the game. The Rams got a few penalties in their favor to help things along

I doubt seriously the Raiders prepared for Mayfield either

To be fair, it is hard to judge Wilks with a staff he didn’t select.  A qb he didn’t select and impossible to change mid season

as I said in October and it wasn’t received well, the only thing working for the Panthers then  and now is the run game ….so do that and do it well

wilks knows that too

I think it’s a miracle they have won any games

Stealing a literary line, ‘a mule is a horse”s harness is still a mule’

right know, whole lotta mules on the offensive coaching staff.

McVay put together a better and more cohesive gameplan for Baker off the couch and within 48 hours than we could in an entire off-season and 9 games.

McAdoo is done. I can’t think of a bigger embarrassment for an OC.

McAdoo needs to be fired the minute after the season ends. It’s painfully obvious.

McDaniels is a terrible, terrible head coach and even worse he seems to be a spoiled brat. Raiders made a big mistake  hiring him and are probably stuck with him since Davis is the poorest owner in the league. They need to hit the reset button.

I still think Wilks has a chance to win the job, but McAdoo has to go no matter what. Baker looked like a completely different QB in only 2 days with McVay. Which leads me to the biggest problem with giving Wilks the full-time gig in that we have absolutely no clue who he would be able to get to come in and be OC. I do give Wilks credit for neutering McAdoo's inept play calling and making us a run first team to try and keep us in games something Rhule always talked about doing but never did.
