I think it was a statement to the players for when he's back in. He may have just been happier too. 

May have even an activated win bonus. lol

I would love to say he got caught up in the moment, which I've seen.  But when you see him wince before deliverying the next headbutt you can tell its for show.  He's dealing with the pain of the headbutts to show "hey guys, I'm tuff and I enjoy what you are doing right now!  Can I be your starter again?"

I think it’s a attention thing he’s used to getting a lot of attention. And when you’re bored out your mind from sitting in the bench you’ll do anything for shts and giggles

He gains nothing by not being supportive of his team. If he starts again, his teammates will give him credit for being supportive. If he doesn't, when he hits FA he showed he's not being a baby about not being the starter. He obviously has that competitive gene but I'm sure he talked with his wife and family and decided to go with taking an optimistic approach. Lots of things happened at the same time as Rhule leaving so it's hard to evaluate every single situation but the vibe seems to be way better team wide
